Penguins sign Bemstrom, Clurman and Imama to one-year contracts

The Pittsburgh Penguins announced they have signed Emil Bemstrom, Nathan Clurman and Bokondji Imama to one-year, two-way contracts.

Bemstrom signs a one-year, $775,000 AAV contract, Bemstrom was acquired via trade last season for Alex Nylander and notched five points in 24 games with the Penguins. Through five NHL seasons, Bemstrom has scored 34 goals and 40 assists for 74 points in 228 games. Drafted in the fourth round by the Blue Jackets in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, Bemstrom spent two more seasons developing in Sweden.

Clurman signs a one-year, $775,000 contract, the 26-year-old spent the 2023-24 season with the Colorado Avalanche’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate the Colorado Eagles where he tallied five points in 37 games. Clruman was oringally drafted No. 161 overall in the 2016 NHL Draft by Colorado and spent three seasons with the University of Notre Dame.

Imama signed a one-year, $775,000 contract and was a group 6 unrestricted free agent after finishing a one-year, $750,000 contract that he signed with the Ottawa Senators. Imama spent the 2023-24 regular season with the Belleville Senators in the AHL where he totalled 10 points and 115 penalty minutes in 53 games. The 6-foot-1, 220-pound hard hitting forward also appeared in six games with Ottawa. Throughout his career, Imama has appeared in 15 NHL games between the Senators and Coytoes registering one goal and 17 penalty minutes.
