A number of players hit the waiver wire on Sunday, as more players were cut from NHL training camps.

One of the more notable names of the 23 players made available was Nashville Predators forward Vinnie Hinostroza. The veteran signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Predators this summer after spending the 2023-24 season with the Pittsburgh Penguins organization. He played 14 games with the Penguins, scoring a goal and two assists, though he hasn’t played an NHL game since Dec. 31, 2023. The 30-year-old is just a couple of years removed from being a full-time NHLer with the Buffalo Sabres.

MacKenzie MacEachern was also put on waivers by the St. Louis Blues. The Michigan native, who was on the Blues team that won the Stanley Cup in 2019, is in the midst of his second stint with the team that drafted him out of high school in 2012. MacEachern re-signed with St. Louis for two years in 2023 after one season with the Carolina Hurricanes organization. He ended up playing just eight games with the Blues last season, spending most of the 2023-24 with the team’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds.

Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported the full list of players placed on waivers following the 2 p.m. ET drop.

Another name some might remember that hit waivers on Sunday was Martin Frk. The Czech native hasn’t played in the NHL since the 2021-22 season, and spent last season with SC Bern and SC Rapperswil-Jona in Switzerland. He signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Flames on July 1. Frk is famously known as the player who won the 2020 AHL Hardest Shot competition with an incredible 109.2-mph shot.

On Saturday, 23 players were also placed on waivers by the Calgary Flames, Colorado Avalanche, Florida Panthers, Nashville Predators, New York Islanders, Seattle Kraken, Utah Hockey Club, Vegas Golden Knights and Washington Capitals. According to Friedman, all players reportedly cleared.
