Green missed Tuesday's game while attending to a family matter but is expected to play tonight in Dallas. Green has no points in his last six games and has just seven points (2G / 5A) and a minus-24 rating in 32 games this season.

Holtby allowed five goals on 28 shots in the Capitals 6-4 loss in Carolina on Saturday. Holtby has struggled mightily in his last two outings, allowing a combined nine goals on just 39 shots (.769 SV%). This afternoon he faces the Islanders for the first time this season. He is 8-1-3 with a 2.52 GAA and .918 SV% on home-ice.

Holtby was yanked after allowing four goals on 11 shots in the Capitals loss in Boston on Monday. With Ilya Samsonov starting last night's overtime win, Holtby will get the Hurricanes in Carolina on Saturday. Holtby is 9-4-1 with a 3.19 GAA and .897 SV% on the road this year and allowed three goals on 28 shots in a 3-2 overtime loss in his first game vs. the Hurricanes.

A week ago, he allowed four goals on 37 shots in a loss to the Blue Jackets but they come into this matchup extremely banged up. Holtby is a must-start to kick-off the week.

The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for Holtby, who will make his 24th start of the season on Wednesday. In his first start against the Bruins, Holtby stopped 21 of 23 shots in a 3-2 shootout win in mid-November.

Holtby allowed just two goals on 29 shots in the Capitals win in Anaheim last Friday. Holtby continues to play outstanding hockey, having won four in a row while posting a 2.47 GAA and .919 SV%. Holtby leads the NHL in win (15) with a 2.78 GAA (26th) and .910 SV% (t-26th). Tonight he faces a Blue Jackets team that has lost four in a row while scoring just 1.25 goals per game.

Holtby allowed two goals on 25 shots in the Capitals win in San Jose on Tuesday. Holtby has won three in a row while stopping 87 of the 95 shots (.916 SV%) that he has faced. Holtby has been tremendous this season, going 14-2-4 with a 2.82 GAA and .909 SV% and draws a great matchup in Anaheim on Friday. He stopped 32 of 34 shots in a 5-2 win the first time he faced the Ducks (Nov.18).

Holtby allowed two goals on 25 shots in the Capitals win in San Jose on Tuesday. Holtby has won three in a row while stopping 87 of the 95 shots (.916 SV%) that he has faced. Holtby has been tremendous this season, going 14-2-4 with a 2.82 GAA and .909 SV% and draws a great matchup in Anaheim on Friday. He stopped 32 of 34 shots in a 5-2 win the first time he faced the Ducks (Nov.18).

Holtby allowed three goals on 30 shots in the Capitals win over the Lightning last Friday. Holtby was fantastic in November, going 8-1-1 with a 2.24 GAA and .928 SV%. He was second in wins in the month and tonight he goes head-to-head with Martin Jones, who was first with a 10-2-0 record. Holtby is 7-2-1 with a 3.13 GAA and .903 SV% on the road this season.


Green has missed the last four games with an upper-body injury but appears set to play Friday against the Flyers. Green has had a slow start to the season, posting just four points (1G / 3A) in 19 games, so he's not a great fantasy option at this point.

Holtby stopped 32 of 33 shots in the Capitals' loss to the Canucks on Saturday. After having his seven-game winning streak, Holtby has now lost two in a row. Coming into Wednesday's meeting with the Panthers, Holtby is 4-0-3 with a 2.48 GAA and .916 SV% on home-ice. He allowed four goals on 36 shots in a 5-4 overtime win in his first start against Florida (Nov.7).

Green had basically already been ruled out for Sunday's game, so his move to IR opened up a roster spot to call-up Filip Zadina. The move is retroactive to Nov.19, so he's eligible to play Wednesday vs. the Maple Leafs.


Green left Tuesday's game with an upper-body injury and is expected to miss their two-game road-trip in Columbus and New Jersey. Joe Hicketts was recalled from Grand Rapids (AHL) and is expected to replace Green on Thursday.
