Evgenii Dadonov will be a healthy scratch on Tuesday against the Anaheim Ducks, allowing Blackwell to re-enter the lineup. The 31-year-old Blackwell is averaging 11:41 time-on-ice and has 13 points (5G / 8A) in 52 games this season.

Roope Hintz is battling an undisclosed ailment and will not play on Wednesday against the Chicago Blackhawks, allowing Blackwell to re-enter the lineup for the first time since November 14th. The 31-year-old Blackwell played the first 15 games of the season, scoring four points (1G / 3A) from the fourth line, but has been a healthy scratch for five games since.


Blackwell has spent the last two seasons in Chicago but earned himself a one-year, $775,000 contract on Tuesday with Dallas. The 31-year-old is entering his seventh NHL season and had eight goals, 12 points, 10 PIMs and a -2 plus/minus in 44 games in 2023-24.

Blackwell will get the chance to play once more this year as he draws into Chicago's lineup for their regular season finale. He enters tonight's contest with eight goals and four assists in 43 games.
