Dan DeKeyser News
DeKeyser has missed the last three games on the COVID-19 protocol list but has been cleared to return to the lineup on Saturday. DeKeyser split reps with Jordan Oesterle in Friday's practice, so it's unclear if he will in fact return to the lineup vs. the Islanders.
DeKeyser hasn't played since October 22nd and recently suffered a setback. DeKeyser is scheduled to undergo surgery on his back and the rehab timetable could push his return into 2020-21.
DeKeyser missed Wednesday’s game in Ottawa and the Red Wings are expected to be without him for at least two more weeks. Madison Bowey and Alex Biega will likely split time as the Red Wings’ sixth defenseman while DeKeyser is out.
DeKeyser recently returned to the Red Wings lineup but is injured again after playing just three games. Madison Bowey will draw back into the lineup for DeKeyser, who is back in Detroit undergoing further evaluation.
DeKeyser was a late-scratch in Vancouver on Tuesday and missed Wednesday’s practice but remains a game-time call for tonight’s game in Calgary. The recently acquired Alex Biega will remain in the Red Wings lineup if DeKeyser can’t play against the Flames.
DeKeyser has been out since December 4th but is expected to play on Tuesday after being a full participant in Monday’s practice session. DeKeyser still needs to be cleared by the medical staff but all signs point towards him returning vs. the Ducks.
DeKeyser was forced to leave Tuesday’s game vs. the Lightning with a hand injury and will be sidelined until at least early-January. With DeKeyser out, Luke Witkowski is expected to dress as the Red Wings’ No.6 defenseman until either Trevor Daley is healthy or they recall another defenseman.
DeKeyser has been out since October 13th but is set to return Saturday vs. the Oilers. DeKeyser has on assist and six shots on goal in five games this season.

DeKeyser was forced to leave Saturday’s game in Boston after playing just 1:31 TOI and did not return. Head coach Jeff Blashill told reporters that DeKeyser is going to see a specialist on Tuesday and that will help determine how long the seventh-year defenseman will be out. Dennis Cholowski will replace DeKeyser vs. the Canadiens.
DeKeyser has been sidelined since October 10th, but it looks like he will return on Sunday. There’s no word who DeKeyser will replace, but Trevor Daley (upper-body) is a question mark for Friday so there’s no guarantee he will be available for Sunday.
DeKeyser has missed the last nine games and was believed to be close to returning, but the Red Wings announced on Monday that he will be out for at least 10 more days. The Red Wings are not expected to recall a defenseman at this time.
DeKeyser is expected to miss his ninth straight game on Saturday, but it looks like he is nearing a return to the lineup. His next chance to play is next Tuesday vs. the Coyotes.
DeKeyser is dealing with a slight ankle sprain and will miss at least one more week. With DeKeyser out, look for both Niklas Kronwall and Xavier Ouellet to remain in the Red Wings lineup. DeKeyser doesn’t carry a lot of fantasy value because of his lack of power-play usage.
