The Golden Knights have acquired Max Pacioretty from the Canadiens for Tomas Tatar, Nick Suzuki and a 2019 2nd Round Pick.

Pacioretty is entering the final season of a six-year, $27M contract that he signed back in 2012. Despite a down-year in 2018, Pacioretty has been one of the NHL’s most consistent goal-scorers in recent years, scoring 30-plus goals in five of the last six (full 82 game) seasons. Since 2011-12, Pacioretty ranks ninth in the NHL in goals (206) and 25th in points (399). A career-worst 8.0 shooting percentage can be to blame for last year’s drop in production. Expect Pacioretty to thrive on a powerful Vegas offence and return to 30-goals in 2019.

Pacioretty (lower-body) has returned to Montreal; will not play on Saturday.

Pacioretty left late in last night’s win over the Islanders and will have to come out of the lineup tonight in Boston. With the season all but over for the Canadiens, there’s no need to force Pacioretty into any games down the stretch. He has returned to Montreal to be re-evaluated.

Pacioretty (foot) will be a game-time decision on Tuesday.

Pacioretty left the morning skate after being hit in the foot by Shea Weber shot. Pacioretty was reportedly unable to put any weight on his foot as he hobbled off of the ice and we all know how hard Weber can fire the puck, so the Canadiens’ doctors will keep a close eye on Pacioretty’s foot in the hopes that it doesn’t swell up so he can be available tonight.

Pacioretty (knee) returned to practice on Thursday.

Pacioretty has sat out training camp and the preseason to this point, but his knee injury has gotten to a point where the doctors were able to clear him for practice. This is a big step in Pacioretty’s road to being ready for the first game of the season on October 7th.

On Tuesday, Pacioretty skated for the first time after suffering fractures to his tibial plateau in July.

Pacioretty avoided serious injury and surgery when he suffered fractures to his left tibial plateau in a training session in July. Pacioretty won’t be ready to join his teammates for the start of training camp and doesn’t have a timetable for his return. His status for the Habs’ season opener on October 10th remains up in the air.
