Balcers was originally drafted by the Sharks in 2015 but was traded to Ottawa as a part of the Erik Karlsson deal in 2018. He found his way back to San Jose via waivers in 2021 and had a career-best 23 points (11G / 12A) in 61 games with San Jose last season. He provides the Panthers a little depth at left wing and can move up and down the lineup.
