Rooney has cleared waivers Tuesday and has been assigned to the Calgary Wranglers (AHL).

Rooney had an assist, 14 SOG, seven PIMs and a -2 plus/minus through 17 games played with Calgary in 2022-23 but has been forced to miss all of the 2023-24 season thus far as he remains out of the lineup from off-season shoulder surgery.

Kuznetsov will make his NHL debut Tuesday vs. Ottawa.

Kuznetsov was recalled last week but could not crack the Flames roster and immediately returned to the Wranglers (AHL), where he has seven points (2G / 5A) in 31 games this season. That said, the Flames defensive prospect will make his NHL debut at home on Tuesday against the Ottawa Senators.

The Coyotes re-assigned Kirkland to Tuscon (AHL) on Friday.

Kirkland has spent most of his eight-year professional career in the AHL, making his NHL debut last season with the Anaheim Ducks, being held without a point in seven contests. Kirkland has 13 points (1G / 12A) this season in 12 games with the Tuscon Roadrunners (AHL).

Frost will rejoin the Flyers' lineup Saturday vs. Calgary after being a healthy scratch last game.

After recording only one assist in his last four games, Frost was the odd man out of the Flyers' lineup on Thursday. The 24-year-old Frost is no stranger to being healthy scratched this season, as he has not dressed for 10 games so far already this season but still has five goals and 11 points in the 27 games he has played. He will return to the lineup on Saturday against the Calgary Flames.

With Dennis Gilbert suffering an upper-body injury yesterday, the Flames have opted to recall Kuznetsov from the Wranglers (AHL), where he has seven points (2G / 5A) in 31 games this season. The 50th overall pick of the Flames in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft could be poised to make his NHL debut if Gilbert remains out of the lineup.

Kirkland has spent most of his eight-year professional career in the AHL, making his NHL debut last season with the Anaheim Ducks, being held without a point in seven contests. Kirkland has 13 points (1G / 12A) this season in 12 games with the Tuscon Roadrunners (AHL).

Vladar will start Thursday's game in Nashville.

Vladar will get the surprise nod in Nashville on Thursday, making his first appearance since Jacob Markstrom returned from a finger injury on December 18th. Vladar was solid his last time out, stopping 31 of the 33 shots he faced enroute to a 4-2 victory over the Lightning. This presumably sets Vladar up to start a pair of games this weekend as the Flames are set to play a back-to-back on Saturday and Sunday. He draws a difficult matchup on Thursday with the Flames being slight underdogs at +105 in Nashville.

Frost will be a healthy scratch Thursday vs. Columbus.

Frost has only one assist in his last four games and finds himself the odd man out of the Flyers' lineup Thursday as Rhett Gardner makes his Philadelphia debut. The 24-year-old Frost is no stranger to being healthy scratched this season, as he has not dressed for 10 games so far already this season but still has five goals and 11 points in the 27 games he has played.

Hanley will draw back into the Stars' lineup Thursday vs. Colorado.

After playing four straight games, Hanley was a healthy scratch for the last three but will re-enter the lineup on Thursday in favour of Nils Lundkvist. In 13 games this season, Hanley has one point (0G / 1A) and 12 hits while averaging 12:16 time-on-ice.

Joel Hanley
Barrie (upper body) returned to the Predators' morning skate Thursday.

Barrie has missed four games, last playing on December 23rd, but returned to practice for the Predators on Thursday. Before the Christmas break, Barrie had played five straight games for the Predators, scoring one point (1G / 0A), a -2 plus/minus, and averaged slightly over 17 minutes per night.

Tyson Barrie
Rasmus Andersson (illness) missed practice Friday and is questionable Sunday vs. Philadelphia.

Andersson did not practice on Friday due to an illness but might not miss any game action as the Flames do not play until Sunday. Andersson only has two points (1G / 1A) in his last seven games but is averaging 25:08 time-on-ice and 2.6 shots per game.
