Dobson (lower-body) is on the ice for warmups and is expected to play Monday.

Dobson has missed the Islanders previous four games due to a lower-body injury and will play Monday vs. Philadelphia to return to the lineup. Despite the injury, the 23-year-old is currently sixth in the NHL in goals for defensemen with 10 and also has 17 assists, 137 SOG, and a -5 plus/minus through 48 games played prior to the injury.

Fasching missed the Islanders' previous six games due to a lower-body injury and will play Monday as they take on Philadelphia. The 27-year-old right winger had three goals, two assists, 20 SOG, six PIMs and a +4 plus/minus through 19 games played prior to the injury.

He will take on the Philadelphia Flyers, who won their last game and are 27th in the NHL in goals per game (2.78).

Holmstrom had three goals, two assists, and four PIMs in 16 games with Bridgeport (AHL) but has been recalled to the Islanders Monday. The 21-year-old struggled in his previous stint with the big club, picking up only two goals, an assist, and 15 SOG through 24 games played earlier this season.

The Islanders have recalled Samuel Bolduc from Bridgeport (AHL).

Bolduc would have taken part in Monday's AHL All-Star Classic but instead will head back up to the NHL where he previously had a strong initial four-game showing. The 22-year-old heads up from Bridgeport (AHL), where he had eight goals, 26 points, 10 PIMs and a -13 plus/minus through 41 games prior to his promotion.

Bo Horvat has signed an eight-year, $68 Million ($8.5 Million AAV) extension with the New York Islanders.

Horvat was dealt to the Islanders last week for Anthony Beauvillier, Aatu Raty and a top-12 protected 2023 first-round pick and has signed an eight-year, $68 Million ($8.5 Million AAV) with the Islanders Sunday. The 27-year-old is on pace for the best season of his career with his 31 goals, 23 assists, 143 SOG and 12 PIMs through 49 games with Vancouver prior to his trade. He has never surpassed 61 points in any of his previous eight NHL seasons.

Ilya Sorokin will start Friday vs. Detroit.

Sorokin allowed five goals on 39 shots (.872 SV%) for his fourth-straight loss as he was defeated by Toronto in his previous start. The 27-year-old has a losing record of 15-16-4 despite playing incredibly well with his 2.44 GAA and .922 SV%. He takes on the Detroit Red Wings, who have won three of their last four contests after a 4-3 win over Montreal last game but are 20th in the NHL in goals per game (3.06).
