Kyle Palmieri has been activated off the injured reserve (upper body).

Palmieri hasn't played since Dec. 16th due to an upper-body injury but was activated off the injured reserve Monday. The 31-year-old has battled injuries all season, which has led to six goals, three assists, 39 SOG, six PIMs and a -2 plus/minus through 21 games played.

Noah Dobson will be a game-time decision Monday vs. Toronto (undisclosed).

Dobson has 10 goals, 17 assists, 137 SOG, 12 PIMs and a -5 plus/minus through 48 games this season but will be a game-time decision Monday as the Islanders take on Toronto. It will be the first game this season that the 23-year-old is forced to miss if he does not suit up.

Sorokin allowed four goals on 25 shots (.840 SV%) for his third straight loss as he was defeated by 5-2 by Carolina in his previous contest. The 27-year-old has been a rock all season for the Islanders, with his 15-15-4 record, 2.37 GAA and .924 SV%. He will face the Toronto Maple Leafs, who have lost three of their last five games after a 3-2 overtime loss to Montreal last game.

Dufour made at costly mistake in the second period of his NHL debut which led to him sitting the rest of the game after just eight shifts, 6:48 TOI and a -2 plus/minus. The 20-year-old heads back to Bridgeport (AHL) where he has 13 goals, 12 assists, 19 PIMs and is a -11 plus/minus through 37 games.

Semyon Varlamov will start Wednesday vs. Boston.

Varlamov allowed four goals on 21 shots (.810 SV%) for his second loss in three games as he lost to Calgary in his previous start. The Islanders' backup netminder has been incredibly serviceable as expected this season, with his 8-4-1 record, .913 SV% and 2.75 GAA. He will face the league-leading Boston Bruins, who have won six of their last seven games after a 6-0 win over Philadelphia last game.

Varlamov allowed four goals on 21 shots (.810 SV%) for his second loss in three games as he lost to Calgary in his previous start. He will face the league-leading Boston Bruins, who have won six of their last seven games after a 6-0 win over Philadelphia last game.

Sorokin stopped 22 of 23 shots (.957 SV%) to snap a three-game losing streak as he beat Montreal in his previous start. The 27-year-old is having arguably his best season to date, with his incredible .927 SV%, 2.25 GAA and 15-14-2 record. He will take on the Washington Capitals, who have lost three of their last four contest after a 3-1 defeat to Philadelphia last time out.
