Sorokin stopped 22 of 23 shots as the New York Islanders handled Anaheim 7-1 in his last time out Saturday. Coming off five days of rest after being given the night off Tuesday, Sorokin will be looking to continue his strong play early as he carries a .941 SV% and 1.53 GAA into his third start of the season. He will be taking on a Devils' team at home that is averaging 2.67 goals for with only eight goals through their first three games.


Boqvist had failed to record a point while playing 16:48 ATOI in the first three games of the season. On Tuesday, he will be a healthy scratch to make room for Nick Blankenburg to make his season debut.

Clutterbuck still hasn't returned to practice since undergoing shoulder surgery in April. According to head coach Lane Lambert, "it's still the status quo" for Clutterbuck. Nikita Soshnikov was skating in Clutterbuck's spot on the Islanders' fourth line.

Barzal enters the final year of his three-year, $21.0M ($7.0M AAV) deal and gets a $2.15M AAV raise to remain with the team through the 2031 season. Barzal dazzled as a rookie, posting 85 points (22G / 63A) in 82 games but has averaged just 67 points per 82 games in four years since.

Perunovich was injured on September 27th and will undergo surgery this week and will be re-evaluated in six months. The injury effectively ends Perunovich's season unless the Blues want him to make his season debut in the playoffs after a lengthy layoff.

The Maple Leafs are waiting for Engvall to be re-evaluated before they give a specific timeline on his expected return. Reports suggest that it's likely that Engvall could miss some time to begin the 2022-23 season. Toronto should be well equipped to handle his absence with many depth signings/PTOs in camp.
