Eetu Makiniemi will make his first career start Friday vs. Anaheim.

Makiniemi allowed two goals on eight shots (.750 SV%) in relief hockey in his first career NHL appearance last game vs. the Vancouver Canucks. He will get the first start of his career Friday after posting a 6-4-2 record and .918 SV% with the San Jose Barracuda (AHL). He draws a good first matchup with the Anaheim Ducks, who are 30th in the NHL in goals for per game (2.48) and 21st in shots (30.2).

Ryan Poehling will be out of the lineup Tuesday vs. Columbus (upper-body) and is considered day-to-day.

Poehling will miss his first game of the season Tuesday due to an upper-body injury, although it does not seem too serious as he skated in the morning. The 23-year-old has four goals, three assists and 28 SOG through 25 games played this season while averaging 11:23 TOI.

Scott Laughton will return to the Flyers' lineup vs. the Islanders (upper-body).

Laughton will return from injured reserve after missing the Flyers' last four games due to an upper-body injury. The 28-year-old will have a welcome return for Philadelphia who has lost ten straight games. Laughton has three goals and seven points with 44 SOG while averaging a career-high 19:09 TOI.

Egor Zamula will draw back into the Flyers' lineup Tuesday vs. NYI.

Zamula is back up with the Flyers where he posted two assists, a +1 plus/minus with four SOG through nine games in his previous stint with Philadelphia earlier in the season. He will be looking to add to his 21 career NHL games played and improve on his -4 plus/minus rating across those games.

Travis Konecny has been placed on the injured reserve Monday (upper body).

Konecny has not played since leaving the Flyers' contest vs. Boston due to an upper-body injury on Nov. 17th and was placed on the injured reserve Monday. It is a massive loss Philadelphia as at the time of injury Konecny was leading the team in both goals (7) and points (19) through 17 games played.

Zamula is back up with the Flyers where he posted two assists, a +1 plus/minus with four SOG through nine games in his previous stint with Philadelphia earlier in the season. He will be looking to add to his 21 career NHL games played and improve on his -4 plus/minus rating across those games.

Petersen is expected to start Tuesday vs. the Rangers.

Petersen stopped 26 of 29 shots (.897 SV%) before eventually losing in overtime to Seattle in his previous start. The 28-year-old holds a 5-2-1 record on the season even though he is posting a horrific 3.49 GAA and .880 SV%. He takes on the New York Rangers who rank fifth in the NHL in shots per game (34.6) but 20th in goals per game (2.95).
