Ryan Ellis (knee) is expected to resume skating in approximately three weeks; return to the lineup not expected until January.

Ellis underwent knee surgery in June and is expected to miss the first three months of the season, at the very least. This is a huge blow to the Predators’ talented blueline as Ellis is coming off of a career-highs in goals (16) and points (38). With Ellis sidelined, look for offseason acquisition Alexei Emelin to play a more prominent role and for Matt Irwin to see regular playing time.

The Kings have signed Cal Petersen to a two-year entry level contract.

Petersen, 22, was a fifth round pick in 2013 and signed with the Kings as a college free agent after three years at Notre Dame. Last season, Petersen was 23-12-5 with a 2.22 GAA and .926 SV% in 40 starts with the Fighting Irish and should report to Ontario (AHL) to start 2017-18.

Konecny (lower-body) will return to the Flyers lineup on Saturday.

Konecny has been sidelined since February 6th, but will return to the lineup tonight in Washington. Konecny has had a nice rookie season, scoring seven goals and 15 assists (22 points) in 51 games. Konecny will likely replace Dale Weise or Matt Read in the lineup.
