Aho is expected to play in the NHL for the first time since December 19th. Aho, who has two assists in 12 games this season, will replace Andy Greene and should skate on the third pairing with Ryan Pulock.

Johnsson was a late scratch vs. the Penguins on Sunday afternoon and will miss his second straight game on Tuesday. Marian Studenic will remain in Johnsson's spot in the Devils' bottom-6.

Johnsson suffered a lower-body injury in warmups on Sunday and did not play vs. the Penguins. He was missing from Monday's practice and is questionable to play Tuesday. Marian Studenic will remain in the lineup to replace Johnsson if he can't play.



Malkin practiced on Friday and Saturday and is expected to play Sunday in New Jersey. He's officially listed as a game-time decision, so monitor his status as the Penguins hit the ice for warmups.

Grzelcyk was hurt vs. the Hurricanes on Thursday and will not play on Saturday. Grzelcyk was on the ice for Friday's practice, which suggests he's close and likely won't miss an extended period of time.





Bemstrom will not be available for Tuesday's game in Washington, so Trey Fix-Wolansky was recalled from the AHL and is expected to make his NHL debut.

Heinen missed the final two games before the All-Star break with an upper-body injury but was a full participant in Monday's practice and will be a game-time decision on Tuesday. Heinen skated on the third line with Evan Rodrigues and Radim Zohorna in Monday's session.

Puustinen was a seventh-round pick in 2019 and has scored 13 goals with 14 assists (27 points) in 40 AHL games this season. The 22-year-old is in his first season in North America and could make his NHL debut on Tuesday after Evgeni Malkin was moved to the COVID-19 protocol list on Monday.

Malkin will miss at least two games after being added to the COVID-19 protocol list. He will be eligible to be activated for Sunday's game in New Jersey. Jeff Carter will likely shift to the No.2 centre while Malkin is out.
