Nedeljkovic is expected to serve as Petr Mrazek’s backup on Friday with Curtis McElhinney out with an undisclosed injury. Jarry stopped 35 of 37 shots in the Penguins overtime loss in Boston last Friday. Jarry’s first start of the season went very well and tonight he will start the tail-end of a back-to-back in Colorado. The Avalanche are first in the NHL in goal-scoring, so leaving Jarry on the bench is probably wise.

With Matt Murray landing on IR, Jarry was recalled on Thursday and will start the front-end of the Penguins back-to-back. Jarry hasn’t been great in the AHL, going 4-5-1 with a 2.89 GAA and .909 SV% in 11 starts with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL). Jarry has gone 14-7-2 with a 2.78 GAA and .907 SV% in his NHL career.

Jarry has gone 4-5-1 with a 2.89 GAA and .909 SV% in 11 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season. With Matt Murray out “longer-term,” Jarry will serve as the primary backup to Casey Desmith and should see the occasional start. The 23-year-old has a 2.78 GAA and .907 SV% in 27 career NHL appearances.

Nieto has missed the last two games with a lower-body injury, but will replace Marko Dano in Los Angeles. Nieto brings very little offence to the table, picking up just two goals and one assist in 17 games this season.

Crosby has missed the last three games with an upper-body injury, but will play Wednesday vs. the Stars. Crosby will be back on the top line with Jake Guentzel and Patric Hornqvist on his wings.

Crosby was back on the ice this morning, but skated as an extra during the Penguins morning skate. Crosby will miss his third straight game, but his return to the ice suggests that he could be available later this week.

This doesn’t come as much of a surprise as head coach Mike Sullivan said he expects Crosby to mis about one week. With Crosby missing his second straight game, Evgeni Malkin will play huge minutes again tonight.

Acciari was a healthy scratch for the last three games, but will replace Chris Wagner tonight. Acciari has no points in 15 games this season.

Nieto is day-to-day with a lower-body injury, so Sven Andrighetto (lower-body) will re-enter the lineup and replace him on the Colorado fourth line on Friday.

Ouellet was a healthy scratch for the last two games, but will replace Mike Reilly tonight in Calgary. Ouellet has just three assists while averaging 17:21 TOI/gm in 16 games this season.

Crosby will not be available on Thursday, but the Penguins announced that his upper-body injury is not a concussion. Head coach Mike Sullivan thinks that Crosby will probably be out for a week, meaning he will probably miss at least Saturday’s game in Ottawa.

Crosby was absent during the Penguins practice session on Wednesday, making him questionable for Thursday’s game against the Lightning. Monitor his status during tomorrow’s morning skate.

Grzelcyk has missed the last two games with a lower-body injury, but could return tonight vs. the Stars. Grzelcyk skated as an extra during line rushes but participated on the second power-play unit, suggesting he may replace Jeremy Lauzon tonight.
