Zach Fucale has been loaned back to the Hershey Bears (AHL).

Fucale did not see any NHL action as he backed up Charlie Lindgren for the last two Capital games while Darcy Kuemper dealt with an upper-body injury and has been loaned back to Hershey (AHL) Thursday. He returns to the Bears, where he is 19-10-2 with a 2.57 GAA and .899 SV% on the season.

Thompson will start Thursday in Calgary.

Thompson stopped 23 of 24 shots (.958 SV%) to snap a three-game losing streak as he beat Minnesota in his previous start on February 9th. The 26-year-old returns from a lower-body injury and hopes to add to his 20-13-3 record, .914 SV% and 2.66 GAA. He takes on the Calgary Flames, who snapped a two-game losing streak with a 5-1 win over Anaheim and are second in the NHL in shots per game (35.5).

van Riemsdyk (personal) will be back in the Capitals lineup on Thursday.

van Riemsdyk missed the Capitals' previous game due to the birth of his child but will be back in Washington's lineup Thursday as they take on the Chicago Blackhawks. The 31-year-old has broken all his previous career highs this season, with his seven goals, 16 assists, 95 SOG, 15 PIMs and +11 plus/minus this season.

Carlson (head) is expected to be back in the Capitals lineup on Thursday.

Carlson last played for the Capitals' on December 23rd and is expected to return to Washington's lineup Thursday vs. Philadelphia due to a head injury. The 33-year-old had eight goals, 13 assists, 101 SOG, six PIMs and a -1 plus/minus through 30 games prior to his injury

Trevor van Riemsdyk is out Tuesday for the birth of his child.

van Riemsdyk and his wife are expecting their first child meaning the 31-year-old will be doubtful to play Tuesday as the team takes on Columbus. If forced to miss the game, it will be his first missed of the 2022-23 season, which has been a breakout of sorts for the defenseman, who has a career-high seven goals, 23 points, and a +11 plus/minus through 71 games so far this season.

Thompson (lower-body) travelled on the Golden Knights' three-game road trip.

Thompson has been sidelined by a lower-body injury since February 9th but travelled to Vancouver for Tuesday's game. Laurent Brossoit also travelled, and Jiri Patera was sent back to the AHL, suggesting that Thompson or Brossoit are ready to share the crease with Jonathan Quick as soon as Tuesday.

Dubois (upper-body) will be a game-time decision on Saturday.

Dubois has missed the last five games with an upper-body injury but was once again on the ice for practice on Friday and could be an option on Saturday. Dubois skated on the second line and top power-play in practice, so expect him to play a sizeable role in his return to the lineup. With an afternoon start, there will be no morning skate for the Jets, so monitor Dubois' status as they hit the ice for warmups at 1:30 PM ET.
