Joonas Korpisalo will start Wednesday vs. Montreal.

Korpisalo allowed six goals on 37 shots (.838 SV%) in his worst start of the season his last time out in a loss vs. Detroit. The 28-year-old has struggled in limited action this season posting a 3-2-1 record with a 4.16 GAA and .897 SV%. He takes on Montreal who is on the second half of a back-to-back after losing to Buffalo 7-2 Tuesday.

Jayson Megna has been recalled just a day after being sent down from the Colorado Eagles (AHL).

Megna will head back to the Avalanche from the Colorado Eagles (AHL) a day after being sent down after failing to pick up a point in eight games with the Avalanche while putting up a -1 plus/minus. Prior to his promotion the first time to the Avalanche, he had three goals and three assists through nine games in the AHL.

Oskar Olausson has been called up from the Colorado Eagles (AHL).

The Avalanches' 2021 1st-round pick (28th overall) has been called up by Colorado for the first time in his career. The 20-year-old had been enjoying a strong first AHL season with the Eagles prior to his promotion, scoring four goals and eight points with four PIMs across 16 games played.

Filip Gustavsson will start Wednesday vs. Winnipeg.

Gustavsson stopped 20 of 21 shots (.952 SV%) in a win over Carolina in his previous start. He has had an up-and-down season as Minnesota's backup posting a 2-4-1 record with a 2.86 GAA and .906 SV%. He takes on the Winnipeg Jets who have won three of their last four contests.

Darcy Kuemper was the first goaltender off the ice for the Capitals Wednesday.

Kuemper allowed four goals on 29 shots (.862 SV%) as he lost to his old team the Colorado Avalanche in his last start. It has not been an easy first season in Washington for Kuemper whose posted a 5-9-1 record with a 2.83 GAA and .907 SV%. He faces off against the Philadelphia Flyers who ranks 30th in the NHL in goals (2.53) and 29th in shots on goal (29.0).

Tristian Jarry was the first goalie off the ice at morning skate Wednesday.

Jarry was perfect his last time out, stopping 32 of 32 Winnipeg Jet shots for his first shutout of the season. The 27-year-old has had an up-and-down season as shown by his 6-3-2 record alongside his 3.27 GAA and .904 SV%. He takes on the Calgary Flames who seem to have turned a corner winning four of their last five games.

T.J. Oshie will likely return to the Capitals' lineup Wednesday vs. Philadelphia (lower body).

Oshie has missed the previous 11 games with a lower-body injury and all signs are pointing to him returning to the lineup Wednesday vs. Philadelphia. The 15-year-veteran has been having a decent start to his season prior to the injury, picking up two goals and five points along with six PIMs and 12 SOG through nine games.

Nicholas Robertson will return to the Maple Leafs' lineup Wednesday vs. New Jersey.

Robertson will draw back into Toronto's lineup Wednesday after missing the last four games as a healthy scratch. The 21-year-old highly touted prospect has enjoyed a good start to his season through 10 games, picking up two goals, five points and 18 SOG while playing limited time while averaging 11:19 TOI.

Antti Raanta was in the starter's crease for the Hurricanes' morning skate.

Raanta lost his previous start after allowing three goals on 15 shots (.800 SV%) against the Colorado Avalanche. The Hurricane's backup has been decent this season, posting a 3-2-2 record with a 2.53 GAA and .902 SV%. He will take on the struggling Arizona Coyotes who have lost their last four games.

Vitek Vanecek will start Wednesday vs. Toronto.

Vanecek stopped 28 of 30 shots (.933 SV%) picking up his ninth straight in his previous start vs. Edmonton. He has been sensational as the Devils' workhorse this season, posting a 9-1-0 record with a 2.14 GAA and .918 SV%. He will take on the Toronto Maple Leafs who lost in overtime their last time out and ranks a surprising 20th in the NHL in goals with 2.95 goals per game.

Ilya Sorokin was the first goalie off the ice from the Islanders' morning skate.

Sorokin stopped 30 of 32 shots (.938 SV%) in a win over Toronto his previous time out. The 27-year-old has been incredible this season, posting a .926 SV% and 2.37 GAA along with his 8-5-0 record. He takes on the Edmonton Oilers who have lost three of their last five games but rank sixth in the NHL with 3.47 goals per game.

Jordan Greenway will return to the Wild lineup Wednesday (upper-body).

Greenway has been in and out of the lineup this season due to injury only playing a total of 17:36 TOI across both games while collecting a -2 plus/minus and zero points. He returns from an upper-body injury looking to build off the 112 career NHL points he has gotten over six NHL seasons.

Tyler Wotherspoon has been recalled from Utica Comets (AHL).

Wotherspoon had one assist and eight PIMs along with a -2 plus/minus rating through 13 games with Utica (AHL) prior to being called up Wednesday. The 29-year-old has played in 30 career NHL games prior to this season, picking up five assists and a -8 plus/minus.

Frederic (upper-body) is questionable to play Wednesday.

Frederic suffered an upper-body injury in Monday's win over the Lightning and is questionable to play Wednesday. Frederic missed Tuesday's practice, which isn't a good sign for his availability. Craig Smith will draw into the lineup if Frederic is unable to play.

Anderson stopped 14 of 15 shots (.933 SV%) during his previous time out in a relief effort that ended in no-decision after he replaced an injured Eric Comrie. The NHL's oldest current active player has had a strong season to date, posting a 3-3-0 record with a 2.82 GAA and .910 SV%. He faces off against the Montreal Canadiens who snapped a two-game losing streak with a 5-4 shootout victory over Philadelphia in their previous game.
