Stalock stopped all 16 shots that he faced after replacing Devan Dubnyk (upper-body) to complete the team shutout over the Oilers on Tuesday. Dubnyk did not travel to Nashville, so Stalock will start against a Predators team that continues to lead the NHL in goal-scoring (4.22 GF/gm). Dating back to the start of last season, Stalock has gone 3-6-0 with a .905 SV% on the road.

Dubnyk was forced to leave Tuesday’s game vs. the Oilers with a lower-body injury. Dubnyk stopped all nine shots he faced before leaving the game and Alex Stalock closed out the team shutout. Stalock is expected to start Thursday and Kaapo Kahkonen was recalled from Iowa (AHL) to serve as his backup.

Not to be confused with this summer’s No.2 overall pick Kaapo Kakko, Kahkonen was a fourth-round pick in 2014. The 23-year-old netminder has gone 4-0-0 with a 2.95 GAA and .886 SV% in four AHL games this season. He is expected to serve as Alex Stalock’s backup on Thursday because Devan Dubnyk was banged up in Tuesday’s win.

Elliott stopped 33 of 35 shots in the Flyers win over the Golden Knights on Monday. It was a fantastic outing for Elliott, who has a .925 SV% in two starts and one relief appearance in 2019-20. Tonight he faces a Blackhawks team that has opened the season at 2-3-2 while ranking 20th in the NHL in goal-scoring (2.71 GF/gm) and 25th in PP% (13.6).

He had one assist in nine games with the Islanders last year and has 103 points (18G / 85A) in 504 career NHL games with the Flyers, Ducks, Canucks, Golden Knights and Islanders.

Paquette has missed the first eight games of the 2019-20 season but is expected to make his debut vs. the Penguins. Paquette will centre the fourth line with Patrick Maroon and Luke Witkowski. The 26-year-old had 13 goals and four assists (17 points) in 80 games last season.

Nilsson stopped 41 of 43 shots in the Senators' loss in Dallas on Monday. Nilsson was outstanding for the second straight game but the Senators offence couldn't help him out. The 29-year-old netminder has stopped 93 of the last 97 shots (.959 SV%) that he has faced and is an intriguing option against a struggling Red Wings team that is on the tail-end of a back-to-back.

Vasilevskiy allowed six goals on 24 shots in the Lightning's 6-2 loss to the Avalanche last Saturday. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Vasilevskiy, who is 4-2-0 with a 3.15 GAA and .899 SV% on the season. Tonight he faces the Penguins, who are on the tail-end of a back-to-back. They were shutout (3-0) in their first back-to-back set.

Anisimov previously missed three games with a lower-body injury but played Monday in Dallas and is now ruled out for at least two weeks. There is no word if it is a new injury or if Anisimov re-aggravated the same lower-body issue he was dealing with. J.C. Beaudin is expected to make his NHL debut in Anisimov's place on Wednesday.

This is a huge blow to an already thin Senators lineup. White ranked fifth among Senators' forwards in ice-time (17:51) but has had a slow start, scoring one goal with one assist in eight games. The Senators have a busy schedule coming up so missing 3-to-5 weeks will mean missing 10-to-17 games for White. Logan Brown was recalled from Belleville (AHL) to take his spot on the roster.

Nilsson stopped 41 of 43 shots in the Senators loss in Dallas on Monday.

Brown was the No.11 overall pick in 2016 and he is off to a blistering start in the AHL this season. The 21-year-old centre is tied for the team-lead with seven points (3G / 4A) in five games and is expected to make his season debut vs. the Red Wings. Brown has just one assist in six career NHL games.

Saarela was originally a third-round pick of the Hurricanes, where he spent the first two years of his career before being traded to Chicago in a trade that sent Anton Forsberg and Gustav Forsling to Carolina. Gibson allowed two goals on 29 shots in the Ducks loss to the Flames on Sunday. Gibson opened the season with three straight wins but has now lost three of the last four while allowing 10 goals on 113 shots (.921 SV%). As well as he has played to start the season, he draws a scary road matchup in Nashville. The Predators are tied for the NHL-lead in goal-scoring (4.00 GF/gm) through eight games.

After appearing in four straight games, Marincin will give way for Kevin Gravel to make his Maple Leafs debut in Boston.
