Volkov has registered three assists in three games at the AHL level this season and will make his debut in New Jersey because Patrick Maroon is out with an upper-body injury.

Maroon was hurt in a fight on Tuesday night and will come out of the lineup for Wednesday’s game in New Jersey. Alexander Volkov was summoned from the AHL and will make his NHL debut in Maroon’s place.

Hedman left Tuesday’s game in the first period after sustaining a lower-body injury and will not be available in the second game of the Lightning’s back-to-back. Jan Rutta is expected to replace Hedman on the back-end.

McElhinney allowed three goals on 40 shots in the Lightning's overtime loss to the Predators on Saturday. With Andrei Vasilevskiy going last night in New York, McElhinney is expected to face the Devils on Wednesday. He has started the season at 0-1-2 with a 3.29 GAA and .915 SV% in his first three games with the Lightning and tonight he faces a Devils team that is the fifth-lowest scoring team in the NHL (2.44 GF/gm).

Markstrom surrendered five goals on 29 shots in the Canucks loss to the Capitals last Friday. Thatcher Demko started Monday, so it's not surprising to see them coming back to Markstrom in Los Angeles. He is 2-2-0 with a 2.28 GAA and .927 SV% in four road starts this season and faces a Kings team that has lost three in a row while being outscored 15-to-4.

Megna will replace Colin Wilson, who is out with an undisclosed injury. Megna has three goals and one assist in seven games with the Eagles this season and has 20 points (10G / 10A) in 113 career NHL games with the Penguins, Rangers and Canucks.

Wilson left Tuesday's practice early with what head coach Jared Bednar described as a "tweak." The Avalanche have recalled Jayson Megna from Colorado (AHL) and he will replace Wilson in the lineup on Wednesday.

Lewis has been held off of the scoresheet for 11 straight games and it looks like the Kings will pull the veteran forward out of their lineup on Wednesday.

Toffoli has not registered a point in four straight games and was an ugly minus-4 during the Kings' loss in Chicago on Sunday. Toffoli rotated on the Kings' fourth line in Tuesday's practice, suggesting that he will come out of the lineup vs. the Canucks.

Trocheck remains out of the Panthers lineup on Wednesday, which means the Panthers will continue to lean heavily on Noel Acciari (16:43 TOI/gm). Monitor Trocheck's status leading up to Saturday's game vs. the Red Wings.

Bishop was pulled for the start of the second period of Tuesday's come from behind win over the Wild. He allowed two goals on 10 shots but the move was more to inject some life into the team than a negative reflection on Bishop's play. He comes into Saturday's start having gone 2-1-0 with a 1.83 GAA and .943 SV% in his last four outings, so he's a solid option vs. the 7-4-2 Canadiens.

Khudobin stopped 11 of 12 shots after replacing Ben Bishop in the second period of Tuesday's come-from-behind win over the Wild. Khudobin has won back-to-back games while stopping 30 of the 32 shots (.938 SV%) in his last two outings and will make his fifth start of the year on Friday. He is 0-2-0 with a 3.56 GAA and .892 SV% in his first two road starts.

Price stopped 29 of 31 shots in the Canadiens victory over the Maple Leafs last Saturday. Price has won three of his last four and tonight he faces a Coyotes team that he is 11-1-0 against in his career. However, these are not your dad's Coyotes, they are 7-3-1 while averaging 3.00 goals for (t-17th) and 2.18 goals against (2nd) to start 2019-20. Price comes in at 2-0-1 with a .912 SV% on the road.

Raanta allowed three goals on 35 shots in the Coyotes win in New Jersey last Friday. Due to Darcy Kuemper's stellar play, Raanta hasn't played a lot yet this year, but he has been impressive when he's been given the crease. Through three starts, he is 2-0-1 with a 2.62 GAA and .922 SV% but draws a tough assignment on Wednesday. The Habs come into the night tied for fourth in goal-scoring (3.64 GF/gm) through their first 11 games.

Grubauer allowed one goal on 26 shots in Colorado's win in Vegas last Friday. Pavel Francouz started on Saturday, so Grubauer is well-rested coming into Wednesday's game vs. the Panthers. He is 3-0-0 with a 2.34 GAA and .931 SV% at the Pepsi Center this season, so don't hesitate to start him against the NHL's eighth-best offence (3.50 GF/gm).

Steen suffered a lower-body injury in Detroit on Sunday but could play Wednesday vs. the Wild. Steen is officially listed as a game-time decision but took part in the morning skate and looks to be good-to-go. Steen has just four assists in 12 games this season.

Fabbri played 11:14 TOI on Sunday but will come out of the lineup on Wednesday with Sammy Blais returning from a thumb injury. The former first-round pick has had a very difficult time getting his career back on-track since missing the entire 2017-18 season with a knee injury.
