Lundqvist will start Thursday in Buffalo.

Lundqvist was pulled after allowed three goals on 16 shots in the Rangers loss to the Blue Jackets on Tuesday. Lundqvist has been extremely inconsistent this season and tonight he’ll make his third start versus the Sabres—he’s gone 0-2-0 with an ugly 4.03 GAA and .849 SV% in the first two meetings.

Budaj will likely start for the second straight night on Wednesday.

Budaj allowed two goals on 32 shots in the Kings’ win in Arizona last night. Budaj extended his winning streak to three games, allowing just three goals on 79 shots (.962 SV%) over that span. Since the Kings don’t play again until Saturday and Jeff Zatkoff has struggled, Budaj is expected to go again tonight.

Price will start Thursday in Philadelphia.

Price allowed two goals on 39 shots in the Canadiens’ win over the Sabres on Tuesday. It was a good way for Price to finish a tough month of January and tonight he will make his third start of the season versus Philadelphia—he has gone 2-0-0 with a 2.50 GAA and .929 SV% in the first two meetings.

Elliott will start Wednesday vs. the Wild.

Elliott allowed two goals on 27 shots in the Flames win in Ottawa last Thursday. The Flames have been operating on a win and you’re in strategy, so let’s see if Elliott can get on a roll with the All-Star break behind us. He was 2-3-1 with a 2.50 GAA and .892 SV% in January and will be in tough vs. Devan Dubnyk and the Wild this evening.

Holtby allowed two goals on 29 shots in the Capitals’ win in New Jersey last Thursday. Philipp Grubauer started last night, so Holtby will be in net tonight vs. the Bruins. Holtby has won three straight starts while posting a 2.00 GAA and .925 SV%. In his first start vs. the Bruins, Holtby stopped 31 of 34 shots in a 4-3 OT win.

Budaj leads the Kings onto the ice for warmups.

Budaj stopped all 22 shots that he faced in the Kings’ shutout win in Carolina before the All-Star break. Budaj both of his starts before the break, stopping 46 of 47 shots (.979 SV%). He has had a nice season filling in for Jonathan Quick and comes into tonight with 22 wins (tied for 7th), a 2.06 GAA (4th) and .919 SV% (t-19th) in 42 games.

Rask leads the Bruins onto the ice for warmups.

Rask allowed three goals on 22 shots in the Bruins’ win over the Penguins last Thursday. He has won two in a row despite allowing three goals in each start and allowing three-plus goals in six of his last eight starts. Tonight will be his third start vs. the Lightning—he has gone 2-0-0 with a 1.92 GAA and .934 SV% in the first two meetings.

Letang (knee) has been activated from IR and is on the ice for warmups.

Letang has missed the last six games with a knee injury, but will be back in alongside Brian Dumoulin and on the top power play unit tonight vs. the Predators. Letang has four goals and 19 assists (23 points) in 30 games this season.

Rinne leads the Predators onto the ice for warmups.

Rinne allowed three goals on 33 shots in the Predators’ win over the Blue Jackets last Thursday. Rinne has won three in a row while posting an impressive 2.27 GAA and .920 SV%. The veteran netminder has been great in January (6-2-1), but will be a risky start tonight in Pittsburgh. The Penguins lead the NHL in scoring and have won four of the last six.

Dubnyk will start Wednesday in Calgary.

Dubnyk stopped 24 of 25 shots in the Wild’s win over the Blues last Thursday. Darcy Kuemper started last night, so Dubnyk will go tonight in Calgary. Dubnyk was great in January, going 8-1-0 with a 2.32 GAA and .917 SV%. Tonight will be his third start vs. the Flames—he has gone 0-1-1 with a 1.46 GAA and .948 SV% in the first two.

The Avalanche have activated Tyson Barrie (lower-body) from IR.

Barrie missed the last four games with a lower-body injury, but will return to the lineup tonight in Anaheim. Barrie has three goals and 20 assists (23 points) in 42 games this season and is expected to take his spot back on the top-pair and top power-play.

Kuemper will start Tuesday in Edmonton.

Kuemper allowed three goals on 31 shots in the Wild’s loss to the Predators on January 22nd. Kuemper has won three of his last five starts while allowing a combined 16 goals on 168 shots (.905 SV%). Kuemper hasn’t been great this season, but he’s playing behind one of the best teams in the NHL, making him a decent spot-start option when he gets the nod.

Gibson will start Tuesday vs. the Avalanche.

Gibson allowed four goals on 23 shots in the Ducks’ loss to the Oilers last Wednesday. Gibson has gone 7-2-1 with a 1.65 GAA and .945 SV% in 11 games in January and will make his 38th start tonight vs. the Avalanche. He is 2-0-0 with a 1.00 GAA and .964 SV% in his first two starts against Colorado and is a must-start tonight.

Jones will start Tuesday vs. the Blackhawks.

Jones allowed three goals on 20 shots in the Sharks’ loss to the Oilers last Thursday. The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for Jones, who will make his 43rd appearance tonight vs. the Blackhawks. Jones has gone 1-1-0 with a 2.01 GAA and .932 SV% in two previous starts vs. Chicago this season.

Talbot will start Tuesday vs. the Wild.

Talbot allowed one goal on 33 shots in the Oilers’ win in San Jose last Thursday. Talbot has been on-fire recently, winning six of his last seven starts while posting a 1.37 GAA, .950 SV% and one shutout. The 29-year-old will take on the Wild, who are currently the top team in the Western Conference and come in winners of four of their last five.
