Darling was kept off of the ice on Monday because of an illness, but head coach Joel Quenneville said he expects Darling to be available to backup Corey Crawford.
Toews has missed the last two games and it appears as if he is in danger of missing No.3 tomorrow vs. Florida. If Toews can get on the ice for the pre-game skate, he could return, so monitor his status on Tuesday morning.
Crawford allowed two goals on 36 shots in the Blackhawks’ win in Anaheim last Friday. Scott Darling started on Saturday, so they’ll go back to Crawford tonight vs. the Panthers. Crawford has gone 5-1-2 with a 1.87 GAA and .939 SV% on home ice this season and he’ll take on a Florida team that has lost two of three and just fired their coach on Sunday.
Pickard allowed two goals on 31 shots in Colorado’s loss to the Canucks on Saturday. Despite the loss, it was a strong outing for Pickard, so he will start his second straight game tonight vs. Nashville. Pickard has made three starts on home-ice this season, going 1-1-1 with a 1.96 GAA and .932 SV% at the Pepsi Center.
Hamhuis has picked up just five assists in 21 games in his first season with the Stars. He has been held pointless in his last six games and played a season-low 16:03 TOI on Friday. He will serve as a healthy scratch for the second time this season, which means Patrik Nemeth will draw back into the lineup.
Biega has appeared in one NHL and one AHL game this season, failing to record a point in each. Biega has picked up just eight points (1G / 7A) in 59 career NHL games. With Alex Edler out for at least one month, Biega is expected to draw into the lineup on Tuesday.
Edler was injured early in the Canucks’ win in Colorado on Saturday and will miss at least one month. With Edler out, the Canucks will recall Alex Biega from Utica and he will draw into the lineup on Tuesday.
Miller had to get stitches on his knee after being hit by a Mats Zuccerello shot on Sunday. Rangers’ head coach Alain Vigneault said it is a 50/50 chance that Miller will be in the lineup on Tuesday. If he can’t play, Oscar Lindberg will get back into the lineup.
Lundqvist allowed two goals on 42 shots in the Rangers’ win in Philadelphia last Friday. Antti Raanta started on Sunday, so they’ll go back to Lundqvist vs. Carolina. King Henrik has gone 6-3-1 with a 2.53 GAA and .909 SV% on home-ice this season and allowed three goals on 21 shots in a 3-2 loss in his first start vs. the Hurricanes.
Hall is travelling on the Devils’ three-game road-trip, but he will sit out of the first game on Tuesday. It will be the eighth consecutive game that Hall has missed, but his return could come as early as Thursday.
Jankowski was the 21st overall pick in 2012 and will play in his first career NHL game tonight in Brooklyn. Jankowski picked up 12 points (3G / 9A) in 13 games with Stockton (AHL) this season. The Canadian-born centre will draw in, but the Flames did not announce who will come out. The obvious choice would be Freddie Hamilton, but there are some rumblings that it could be Sean Monahan, who has struggled as of late.
Eichel has not played in a game this season because of a preseason ankle injury, but he skated on the second line and on the top power-play at Monday’s practice. Head coach Dan Bylsma said it is possible for Eichel to make his debut tomorrow, so monitor his status during the morning skate.
Niemi stopped 30 of 31 shots in the Stars’ win over the Canucks on Friday. Niemi has won his last two games, while turning aside 57 of 60 shots (.950 SV%). It has been a nice stretch in an otherwise ugly two months for Niemi, who comes into Monday with a 5.55 GAA and .846 SV% on the road. In his first start vs. the Blues, Niemi allowed two goals on 30 shots in a 6-2 win.
Pouliot failed to pick up a point during his three-game conditioning stint with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Pouliot returns to Pittsburgh, where he has no points in one game this season, but has picked up 14 points (2G / 12A) across 57 career NHL games.
The Red Wings moved Bertuzzi to IR this morning and he told reporters, while sporting a walking boot, that he will miss 3-5 weeks with a high ankle sprain. With Bertuzzi out, the Red Wings recalled Tomas Jurco from Grand Rapids (AHL).
Wagner, 25, didn’t play for the Ducks on Saturday, but went to San Diego for Sunday’s game and picked up a goal and two assists. He returns to Anaheim, where he has two goals in 19 games this season.
Theodore, 21, has split his season between the AHL and NHL and has been a yo-yo for the Ducks so far. Theodore has picked up seven assists in nine games with San Diego and one assist in eight games with the Ducks.
Elliott allowed four goals on 32 shots in the Flames’ loss in Buffalo last Monday. Chad Johnson has started seven of the last eight games, including last night, so Elliott will make his 13th start of the season tonight in Brooklyn. He has struggled to a 2-4-0 record, 3.64 GAA and .875 SV% in six starts on the road this season.
