NHL Hockey Player News

Varlamov will start Thursday vs. the Kings.

Varlamov stopped 44 of 45 shots in Colorado’s win in Chicago on Tuesday. Varly is riding a five-game winning streak, stopping 182 of the 189 shots (.963 SV%) that he has faced. He stopped 25 of 27 shots that he faced in a 2-1 OT loss in his first start against the Kings this season.

Semyon Varlamov
Ullmark will start Friday vs. the Canadiens.

Ullmark allowed one goal on 13 shots after replacing Chad Johnson in the Sabres 4-1 loss to the Coyotes on Wednesday. In three NHL appearances this season, Ullmark has posted a 2.40 GAA and .933 SV% and makes for a decent spot-start option tonight vs. the visiting Canadiens—Montreal has lost four in a row and nine of their last 10 (1-7-2).

Linus Ullmark
Luongo will start Thursday in Columbus.

Luongo stopped all 28 shots that he faced in the Panthers shutout win in Montreal on Monday. Luongo has gone 5-2-1 with a 2.35 GAA and .929 SV% in eight starts in March. The Panthers continue to fight for a playoff spot so they’ll go back to Bobby Lu tonight in Columbus—he is 5-5-1 with a 2.29 GAA and .928 SV% on the road this season.

Roberto Luongo
Andersen will start Thursday in Nashville.

Andersen allowed four goals on 25 shots in the Maple Leafs loss in Tampa Bay on Tuesday. Toronto blew a third period lead vs. the Lightning but will get Auston Matthews back tonight in Nashville. As good as Andersen has been this season, this is a terrible matchup, so take a look at your other options first.

Frederik Andersen
Talbot is expected to start Thursday in Ottawa.

Talbot allowed three goals on 33 shots in the Oilers win in Carolina on Tuesday. Talbot has won five of his last six starts while allowing just 11 goals on 206 shots (.947 SV%). Surprisingly he struggled in his first start against a bad Ottawa team, but should make for a solid start start tonight vs. a banged up Senators squad.

Cam Talbot
Ward will start Thursday vs. the Coyotes.

Ward allowed three goals on 26 shots in the Hurricanes loss to the Flyers on Saturday. Ward has lost four in a row and has gone 2-4-0 with a 3.19 GAA and .881 SV% in six March starts. Tonight he will face a Coyotes team that comes in having won four of their last six games.

Cam Ward
Lyon will start Thursday vs. the Rangers.

Lyon allowed on goal on 12 shots in the Flyers shootout loss in Detroit after he replaced Petr Mrazek. Lyon has gone 1-1-1 with a 1.90 GAA and .927 SV% in two starts and two relief appearances in March. In his first game against the Rangers, Lyon stopped 25 of 26 shots in a 7-4 win after he replaced Michal Neuvirth.

Alex Lyon
Bobrovsky will start Thursday vs. the Panthers.

Bobrovsky allowed three goals on 32 shots in the Blue Jackets win in New York on Tuesday. Bobrovsky has won six in a row and nine of his last 11 starts while posting a 2.10 GAA and .930 SV%. Tonight he will look to go 3-0-0 against the Panthers, having won his first two meetings with a 2.41 GAA and .936 SV%.
