Fleury made 28 saves on 29 shots in the Golden Knights' win over the Blackhawks on Tuesday. Fleury's shutout was snapped late but it was a terrific return to the crease nonetheless. Smith allowed three goals on 22 shots in the Oilers' loss to the Sabres on Sunday. Smith has struggled mightily as of late, losing three straight while surrendering 10 goals on the last 73 shots (.863 SV%) that he has faced. He has played on the road this season though. The 37-year-old has gone 4-4-1 with 2.25 GAA, .923 SV% and one shutout in away games.

Poganski played just 5:54 TOI in his NHL debut on Tuesday but will be a healthy scratch on Thursday. Oskar Sundqvist (lower-body) will return to the lineup to replace Poganski.

Sundqvist has missed the last six games with a lower-body injury but will play Thursday vs. the Golden Knights. Sundqvist will replace Austin Poganski in the lineup but there is no indication what line he will skate on.

Clifton replaced John Moore in the lineup last night but they will trade places again on Thursday. The Bruins didn't want Moore to play in back-to-back games after making his season debut just one week ago.

Moore was a healthy scratch on Wednesday but is expected to take Connor Clifton's spot in the lineup on Thursday. Since making his season debut last Thursday, Moore has one assist, five PIMS and seven shots in three games.

Howard has participated in the last two morning skates but told reporters that he's not close. Howard likely won't be back for at least another week, so the Red Wings will continue to with a goaltending tandem of Jonathan Bernier and Eric Comrie for now.

Greiss allowed three goals on 37 shots in the Islanders' loss in Dallas last Saturday. Greiss has given up three goals in three straight games while going 0-3-0 with a .909 SV% in his last three starts. Mayhew had two goals in six games with Minnesota earlier this season. With Eric Staal's status uncertain for Thursday's game, Mayhew has been called-up. The 26-year-old leads Iowa in goals (14) and points (20) in 22 games this season.

Staal suffered what looked like a long-term injury on Tuesday, so it was a great sign to see him on the ice for the morning skate. Staal will be a game-time decision vs. the Oilers but Gerald Mayhew has been recalled from Iowa (AHL) in case Staal can't play.

Kahkonen has been simply spectacular since coming up from the AHL, going 2-0-1 with a 1.95 GAA and .947 SV% in his first three career starts. It's never easy to face Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl but you can do worse than Kahkonen on Thursday night.

Zadina was "assigned" to Grand Rapids yesterday but it looks like it was just a paper transaction. Zadina skated in his regular spot on the Red Wings' second line and comes in with three assists in his four games.
