Ryan (finger) was at practice on Monday.

Ryan suffered a fractured finger on Friday and missed Saturday’s game. Ryan is skating, but is not taking part in line rushes which suggests he won’t play on Tuesday. However, the fact that he is already back on the ice is a good sign that he won’t miss an extended period of time.

Bobby Ryan
Letang (lower-body) missed Monday’s practice.

Letang missed Saturday’s game with what the Penguins called a “minor lower-body injury”. While the word minor would suggest he won’t miss a lot of time, however his absence this morning suggests he could miss tomorrow’s game vs. New Jersey.

Kris Letang
Komarov (head) did not practice on Monday.

Komarov suffered a head/neck injury following an inadvertent elbow from Alex Ovechkin on Saturday. Komarov underwent concussion protocol on Sunday so his absence this morning likely is not good news on the concussion front. He is questionable for Tuesday’s game vs. Dallas.

Leo Komarov
Boyle (illness) is not expected to play on Monday.

Boyle, who missed Saturday’s game with flu-like symptoms, is not on the ice for the Rangers morning skate, which suggests that he won’t be in the lineup tonight vs. Tampa bay. The Rangers don’t believe he is dealing with mumps, which seems to be sweeping the NHL.

Dan Boyle
Kreider (personal) will be back in the Rangers lineup on Monday.

Kreider missed Saturday’s game due to the death of his grandfather but will play tonight vs. the Lightning. Kreider will skate with Derek Stepan and Martin St. Louis on the Rangers’ second line. He has 13 points (4G / 9A) in 22 games this season. Anthony Duclair will likely take a seat with Kreider back in.

Chris Kreider
Bobrovsky is expected to start in goal for the Blue Jackets.

Bobrovsky gave up four goals on 29 shots in a loss to the Canucks on Friday. He was given Saturday night off, but will be back in the cage tonight vs. Florida. Since returning from a finger injury, he has gone 1-4-1 with a 3.30 GAA and .907 SV%. He will look to get back on track tonight vs. the Panthers.

Sergei Bobrovsky
Anisimov is expected to miss two-to-three months with torn triceps muscle.

Anisimov suffered the injury in Saturday’s loss to the Predators. Anisimov, who missed seven games earlier this season due to an upper body injury, has recorded two goals and four assists for six points with four penalty minutes in 16 games this season. He will be back in the lineup in late-January/early-February at the earliest.

McGinn has been out with a back injury since November 15th. He is going to be evaluated this week and the Avalanche will make a decision on whether or not McGinn needs back surgery or if he can recover without going under the knife.

The Avalanche have recalled Colin Smith from Lake Erie (AHL).

The Avs lost John Mitchell and Marc-Andre Cliche over the weekend so they have recalled the 21-year-old centre and he is expected to make his NHL debut tonight vs. Montreal. He has recorded 12 points (4G / 8A) in 18 games with Lake Erie this season. He was the Avs’ 7th round pick (192nd overall) in 2012.

The Avalanche have recalled Michael Sgarbossa from Lake Erie (AHL).

In the wake of more injuries to Avalanche forwards, the 22-year-old centre has been recalled and is expected to be in the lineup tonight vs. Montreal. Sgarbossa has three goals and nine assists (12 points) in 18 games with Lake Erie this season. He has no points in six career NHL games.

The Wild signed Marco Scandella to a five-year, $20 million contract extension on Saturday.

Scandella, 24, stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 217 pounds. Last year, he developed into a horse of a defensive defenseman, one GM Chuck Fletcher called maybe the team’s best Saturday. This year, he has matured into an offensive threat. He is tied for sixth among NHL defensemen with five goals, all of which are go-ahead goals.

Marco Scandella
The Canadiens signed Brendan Gallagher to a six-year, $22.5 million contract extension on Saturday.

Gallagher has recorded 12 points (5G / 7A), 67 shots on goal and 33 penalty minutes in 24 games this season. Gallagher, 22, has tallied 81 points (39 goals, 42 helpers) in 149 career regular-season games since his NHL debut in 2012-13. His new contract now carries an annual cap-hit of $3.75 million.

Gibson (groin) is expected to return in mid-December.

Gibson has been out with a groin injury since November 3rd and his recovery is on schedule with his original diagnosis of about six weeks. The six week mark is actually December 16th so he should be back between the middle of December to Christmas.

John Gibson
Lovejoy (finger) is still 2-3 weeks away from returning.

Lovejoy has been sidelined with a broken finger since October 26th. He has started skating on his own and can stick handle a little bit, but still is not expected to return until mid-to-late December.

Ben Lovejoy
Stoner (mumps) is nearing a return to the Ducks lineup.

Stoner has missed the last four games with a case of the mumps. He is reportedly improving, but has yet to be medically cleared to play. He shoulder be considered questionable for Monday’s game, but should return later in the week.
