Mitchell has missed the last three games with a leg injury that he suffered last Thursday. He was on the ice for Avalanche practice on Friday and Paul Carey was sent back to the AHL, both signs that Mitchell should be back tomorrow vs. Dallas.
Johnson missed Wednesday’s game with a head injury, but he has back on the ice for Avs’ practice on Friday and should play tomorrow. Karl Stollery, Johnson’s replacement on Wednesday was sent back to the AHL which is another indicator that he will play tomorrow vs. Dallas.
Scrivens was yanked after he allowed five goals on 13 shots in the blowout loss to the Blackhawks last Saturday. He has watched Viktor Fasth start the last two, but it looks like he will get the nod tonight vs. the Blues. He has a 3.35 GAA and .887 SV% behind a shaky blue line, so he should be avoided tonight in St. Louis.
Brodin missed the last seven games with a case of mumps. He said he was dealing with a fever, exhaustion and swollen glands, but will be back in the lineup tonight vs. Dallas. Brodin has two assists and a plus-6 rating in 12 games this season.
Kuemper was pulled after allowing four goals on 10 shots in the Wild’s loss to Los Angeles on Wednesday. Despite the brutal outing, the Wild will give Kuemper a chance to bounce-back tonight in Dallas. In his first two starts of the season against the Stars, he is 2-0-0 with a 1.00 GAA and .958 SV%.
Akeson appeared in 12 games for the Flyers this season, going scoreless and averaging 7:36 of ice-time per game, with his last game coming at Montreal on November 15.
Shinnimin, 23, has four goals and 10 assists in 19 games with the Pirates. Shinnimin skated with Sam Gagner and Martin Erat at practice today and could make his NHL debut on Saturday.
Tangradi was acquired for Peter Budaj before the start of the season and served as a healthy scratch for the first 23 games of the season. He will skate on the fourth line with Manny Malhotra and Dale Weise.
Beauchemin reportedly injured his hand while blocking a shot on Tuesday and won’t be in the lineup this afternoon vs. Chicago. Clayton Stoner is expected to replace him in the lineup after missing two games with an illness.
Hedman skated as an extra on Friday which suggests that he won’t be in the lineup on Saturday vs. Ottawa. Hedman is nearing a return to the Lightning blue line, but it likely won’t come until Monday now.
Phillips missed the last three games with an undisclosed injury, but will be back in tonight vs. the Panthers. He will be in for Mark Borowiecki and be paired with Erik Karlsson.
Kassian was injured in the Canucks win over the Devils on Tuesday. He will be out until mid-December and likely miss at least the next seven games. With Kassian out, Linden Vey wille get back onto the third line and top power-play.
Elliott is listed as week-to-week but now we know he will miss at least 14 days which means he will likely miss at least the next seven games. Jake Allen is expected to get the bulk of if not all of the starts while Elliott is out. Martin Brodeur started practicing with the Blues today and could be signed to back-up Allen.
Crawford allowed two goals on 29 shots in the Blackhawks win over the Avalanche on Wednesday. Crawford has posted a 2.09 GAA and .926 SV% in 12 November starts, but that has only translated into seven wins. Tonight, he will face a Ducks team who have won three in row and sit at 14-4-5.
Miller stopped all 20 shots in the Canucks 2-0 win over the Devils on Tuesday. He has won three in a row while allowing just five goals on 77 shots (.935 SV%). He draws a great matchup tonight vs. the Blue Jackets who rank 23rd in scoring with 2.43 goals per game.
