New York has traded a 2026 5th-round draft pick to St. Louis for Scott Perunovich.

Perunovich, a talented offensive defenseman, was the 45th overall pick of the Blues in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft but had trouble establishing his game at the NHL level with the club. He has six points (2G / 4A) in 24 games with the Blues this season and provides needed depth for the Islanders blue line.

Roslovic is battling an illness and could miss his first game of the season on Tuesday against the New York Rangers. The 27-year-old Roslovic has 26 points (18G / 8A) in 50 games this season. In recent games, Roslovic has been playing on Carolina's fourth line.

Malkin exited Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Seattle Kraken due to a lower-body injury in the first period after only 3:00 time-on-ice. Pittsburgh has recalled Jesse Puljujarvi from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL) in a corresponding move.
