LOS ANGELES -- Devils goalie Martin Brodeur, who has been sidelined since injuring his right shoulder in an Oct. 13 home game against the Kings, made the flight with the team from New Jersey to Los Angeles today.

Brodeur traveling with the team is a welcome sign but the veteran needs more practice before he gets back between the pipes. Then again, he could have waited back East and met the team in Phoenix or Dallas. Stay tuned for a further update.

Lamoriello said Martin Brodeur will skate today and Sunday but doesn't know if the goalie will go west with the team.

Sounds like Hedberg will be the go-to starting goalie for the Devils for at least another week. The team returns from their West Coast trip on November 2nd so that would be the earliest day Brodeur returns.

After Brodeur saw a doctor and underwent tests on Tuesday, the Devils announced Wednesday that Brodeur would miss a week to 10 days, but Lamoriello said he could be back sooner than that.

Brodeur will need a few extra days to rest, which rules him out of tomorrow's game against the Sharks. As the all-time leader in games, wins, shutouts -- essentially everything -- his body simply does not bounce back like it used to.

Still, Brodeur said “it is” a possibility that he will be ready to play in the Devils’ next game, which isn’t until next Friday at home against San Jose.

Brodeur should play next Friday vs. the Sharks or shortly after. Stay tuned for a further update on the wounded Hall-of-Famer.

After Saturday, the Devils don’t play again until next Friday’s home game against San Jose, so Devils coach Pete DeBoer said it makes the most sense to sit out Brodeur Saturday, which would give him a full week to recover.

Look for Brodeur to stay off the ice and then suit back up for his game against the Sharks. If he suffers from any setback, we certainly will update you. Keep in mind Brodeur has played more games than any goalie in the history of the game, so he probably needs to sit out once in a while.

Devils GM Lou Lamoriello said Brodeur "feels better today" and will make trip with team to Nashville.

Travelling with the team is a clear indication that the future Hall-of-Famer could return this weekend. The Devils will play the Preds tomorrow so stay tuned for a further update.

“They don’t feel there’s anything serious about this injury,” he said.” I rely on the doctors. I’m not a doctor.” DeBoer said Brodeur is “day to day.”

Sounds like Brodeur won't miss any significant amount of time. Hedberg may step in for a game or two but Marty probably re-enters the lineup sooner rather than later.

Martin Brodeur will start Friday night's preseason game against the Rangers and likely play all three periods at the Prudential Center.

Sounds like Brodeur's groin isn't bothering him at all. In an injury marred season Brodeur only won 23 games while posting his lowest save percentage since 1994-1995. Brodeur should be healthy moving forward so feel free to draft accordingly.

Martin Brodeur, who missed Monday's scrimmage and practice because of a slight hamstring pull, took part in the Devils' third session today, which included AHL players. The veteran goalie said after the workout that he felt fine.

In an injury marred season Brodeur only won 23 games while posting his lowest save percentage since 1994-1995. The team will need their starting goalie healthy and to play at the top of his game in order to get back into the playoffs.

Martin Brodeur will skate with third group today, mostly AHLers.

Brodeur is having trouble with left-to-right movements, which kept him out of the power play drills. The Devils will continue to play it safe with their starting goalie in hopes they can keep him on the ice all year.

Martin Brodeur, who sat out Monday’s scrimmage with lower-body stiffness, is not out there. Brodeur rarely in recent years has not been part of the first practice group on non-game days in training camp, so I’m guessing that means he won’t be practicing again today.

Probably nothing to worry about yet although Brodeur's body has certainly broke down over recent years. Depending on your format, the future Hall of Famer has gone as high as the second round -- a price too rich for my blood.
