It is more bad luck for Tyler Bertuzzi who was already forced to miss a chunk of the early season due to injury and will now head to the IR due to a hand injury. The 27-year-old has a goal, three assists and 22 SOG through nine games prior to hitting the shelf.

Soderblom stopped 21 of 23 shots (.913 SV%) in an overtime loss to Montreal in his previous start. The Blackhawks' backup has been solid in his rookie season as shown by his 2-4-2 record, .910 SV% and 3.00 GAA. He draws the Edmonton Oilers who have won their last two games and rank 10th in the NHL in goals per game with 3.36.

The 30-year-old veteran has been struggling since joining the Blackhawks, posting a 1-3-1 record with a 3.66 GAA and .889 SV%. He draws the tough task of the Dallas Stars who are second in the NHL with 3.84 goals for per game.

Smith draws back into the Bruins lineup having not played since Nov.12th but will hope to improve on his goal and two assists through 10 games that he has picked up so far this year.

Mrazek had his worst start of the season his last time out, allowing six goals on 43 shots (.860 SV%) in a loss to the league leaders in Boston. The 30-year-old veteran has been struggling since joining the Blackhawks, posting a 1-3-1 record with a 3.66 GAA and .889 SV%. Jones has missed the last 10 games due to a thumb injury but will return to the Blackhawks' lineup Wednesday. Prior to the injury, the 26-year-old star defenseman had four assists and 22 SOG through eight games played while posting a -5 plus/minus rating.

Brodie is still considered week-to-week after it was announced he had not been progressing as expected from an oblique injury. The 32-year-old hasn't played since Nov. 11th and has two assists through 15 games so far this season while posting a +4 plus/minus.

Bjork has 53 points (24G/29A) in 211 career NHL games played. He will make his season debut Wednesday as Buffalo takes on the Ottaway Senators on the road.

Teravainen has an upper-body injury but not a concussion head coach Rod Brind'Amour announced Wednesday and is not close to returning. In 14 games this season, he has yet to score a goal but has seven assists on 32 SOG and only one PPP with a +3 plus/minus rating.

Dickinson missed the last two games with an illness but is expected to play Wednesday vs. the Blues. Dickinson has scored four goals with three assists (seven points) in 11 games so far this season.

Soderblom played miraculously his last time out, stopping 39 of 41 shots (.951 SV%) in a 3-2 win over Anaheim. The 23-year-old rookie has played great this season, with a. 2-2-1 record, .931 SV% and 2.60 GAA. He takes on the streaky St. Louis Blues who find themselves on a three-game winning streak after snapping an eight-game losing streak.

Bjork will replace the injured Jack Quinn who is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury. He will be looking to add to his 53 career NHL points through 211 games as he makes his 2022-23 season debut Tuesday vs. the Canucks.

Bertuzzi has been out since the second game of the season when he broke his hand and was a pleasant face to see a return to Red Wings practice Tuesday. It was a tough loss for both the Red Wings and Bertuzzi after he put up his first 30/30 season last year finishing with 62 points (30G/32A) in 68 games in 2021-22. Prior to breaking his hand, he picked up one assist and four SOG in two games.
