Mrazek will start on Monday in Minnesota.

Mrazek turned aside 24 of 26 shots in the Red Wings 3-2 win over the Predators on Saturday. Mrazek continues to outperform Jimmy Howard and comes into Monday with a 5-2-0 record, 2.50 GAA and .908 SV% in December. He draws a tough assignment tonight in Minnesota—the Wild are tied for seventh in the NHL in goals for on home ice; scoring 3.00 per game.

Petry (lower-body) will not play on Monday.

Petry suffered a upper-body injury in Saturday’s loss in Dallas and it will keep him out of Monday’s game in Nashville. With Petry out, Jarred Tinordi will make his season debut. Petry is also questionable for Tuesday’s game in Minnesota and likely won’t play until after the Christmas break.

Talbot will start on Monday vs. the Jets.

Talbot allowed four goals on 37 shots in the Oilers’ 4-0 shutout loss in Chicago last Thursday. Anders Nilsson struggled again on Saturday, so it will be Talbot tonight vs. the Jets. Talbot has allowed six goals on 86 shots (.930 SV%) in his last two starts. Tonight he will take on a Winnipeg team that is 4-3-0 in December.

Talbot made 47 saves on 49 shots in the Oilers’ OT win in Boston on Monday. It was a superb outing for Talbot who is trying to wrestle the starting gig back from Anders Nilsson. It won’t be easy for him to string wins together with a rough matchup in Chicago tonight. In his first start vs. the Blackhawks he allowed four goals on 28 shots in a 4-2 loss.

Talbot allowed four goals on 32 shots in the Oilers’ loss in Detroit on November 27th. Anders Nilsson has started the last seven games, but Talbot will go tonight in Boston. Talbot has lost his last four starts while posting a 4.06 GAA and .864 SV%, but a lengthy break could be exactly what Talbot needed.

Mrazek allowed two goals on 25 shots in the Red Wings 3-2 win over the Canadiens last Thursday. Mrazek has won three straight starts while posting a 3.21 GAA and .888 SV%. He’s been giving up a lot of goals, but has finally started to get some offensive support. Tonight he will take on the Sabres for the second time this month—he stopped 28 of 32 in a 5-4 shootout win back on the 1st.

Mrazek allowed four goals on 32 shots in the Red Wings overtime win against the Predators on Saturday. Mrazek has won two in a row despite allowing a combined eight goals on 64 shots (.875 SV%). The Red Wings had a lack of offence to start the season, but are now averaging 3.56 goals per game in their last nine games. The return of their offence and Montreal being on a back-to-back make Mrazek a solid start tonight.

Mrazek has gone 3-1-3 with a 2.04 GAA and .929 SV% in seven starts on home is ice this season. He should make for a solid start against a Nashville team that is struggling offensively.
