Binnington allowed two goals on 20 shots in the Blues win in Columbus on Saturday. Binnington has taken over as the Blues’ No.1 netminder and comes into Tuesday’s game at 6-1-1 with a 1.63 GAA, .933 SV% and one shutout in his last eight starts. The 25-year-old has been solid on the road as well, going 4-1-1 with a 1.67 GAA, .925 SV% and one shutout.
Point was scratched from the Lightning’s lineup in New York on Saturday but the Lightning said that it’s just a minor injury and it looks like he could be back in on Tuesday. Point has been outstanding this season, scoring 30 goals with 35 assists (65 points) in 51 games and is a must-start if he ends up playing.
Price surrendered three goals on 24 shots in the Canadiens win over the Oilers on Sunday. Price has been on-fire as of late, winning five straight starts while posting an impressive 1.39 GAA, .957 SV% and one shutout. He has been excellent and has the best matchup possible tonight. Anaheim played in Toronto last night, rank last in the NHL in goals/per game and have lost 16 of their last 18 (2-12-4).
Murray allowed three goals on 33 shots in the Penguins loss in Toronto on Saturday. The Penguins are riding Murray like a clear-cut No.1 and tonight he makes his 26th start of the season and second vs. the Hurricanes. Murray stopped all 39 shots that he faced in a 3-0 shutout win in his first start vs. Carolina (Dec.22).
Kinkaid allowed four goals on 25 shots in the Devils loss to the Rangers last Thursday. Kinkaid has given up at least three goals in six straight games, going 1-5-0 with a 3.71 GAA and .891 SV% over that span. The only thing going for Kinkaid tonight is a matchup with the second-lowest scoring team in the NHL, who played last night.
Holtby allowed one goal on 39 shots in the Capitals loss to Boston on Sunday. It was a tough-luck loss for Holtby, who was outstanding for the first time in a while. Tonight he will face a Canucks team that played last night—he stopped 22 of 24 shots in a 5-2 win in his first start against Vancouver this season (Oct.22).
DiPietro is one of the league’s top goaltending prospects but has struggled since a midseason trade to the Ottawa 67’s, where he is 7-2-0 despite a 2.82 GAA and .896 SV%. DiPietro will backup Jacob Markstrom vs. the Capitals because Thatcher Demko tweaked something in warmups on Monday.
Demko, who likely would have been in-line to start Tuesday’s game, tweaked something in warmups on Monday and will not be available for Tuesday’s contest. Mikey DiPietro will join the Canucks in Washington to serve as Jacob Markstrom’s backup.
Edler took an awkward fall, face-first onto the ice in Philadelphia on Monday and will remain in a Philadelphia area hospital while the Canucks travel to Washington. It was a scary fall and will likely result in Edler missing a fair amount of time. Look for Alex Biega to replace Edler in the lineup on Tuesday.
Ullmark allowed two goals on seven shots after replacing Carter Hutton in the Sabres loss to the Blackhawks on Friday. Ullmark was really good for a stretch of games in late-December but hasn’t been very good in his last seven outings—going 1-4-0 with a 3.25 GAA and .891 SV%. The 25-year-old has also been much better on the road than he has in Buffalo this season—4-2-1 despite a 3.37 GAA and .898 SV% on home-ice.
Markstrom stopped 28 of 30 shots in the Canucks 2-1 loss in Philadelphia last night. With Thatcher Demko tweaking something in warmups last night, Markstrom will start for the second night in a row. In his three previous starts on zero rest, Markstrom is 1-2-0 with a 3.05 GAA and .892 SV%.
Halak allowed three goals on 27 shots in the Bruins loss to the Jets on January 29th. Halak has gone 0-3-1 with a 3.24 GAA and .850 SV% in his last four starts and tonight he faces a Rangers team that is just 5-3-1 in their last nine games despite averaging 3.22 goals for per game. Halak made 11 saves on 13 shots in relief in the Bruins last outing vs. New York.
Rask stopped all 24 shots that he faced in the Bruins shutout win in Washington on Sunday. In his last 10 starts, Rask has not lost in regulation, going 7-0-2 with a 1.70 GAA, .942 SV% and two shutouts. Rask has been on a tear and tonight he faces the Islanders for the second time—he stopped 28 of 29 shots in a 2-1 shoutout win over them in late-November.

Nichushkin has been in the lineup for the last two games but will be replaced by Jason Dickinson, who returns from a lower-body injury.
Dickinson has missed the last two games with a lower-body injury but will replace Valeri Nichushkin on Monday. Dickinson has recorded five goals on 45 shots (11.1 SH%) and six assists (11 points) in 37 games this season.
Kesler has missed the last five games with a lower-body injury but will play Monday in Toronto. Kesler has done nothing offensively this season, scoring just four goals with two assists in 44 games.
