Mason posted a 31-save shutout in his return to the Jets crease on Tuesday but is already out with another injury after suffering a lower-body injury in Thursday’s morning skate. Michael Hutchinson has been recalled from the AHL and will backup Connor Hellebuyck in New Jersey.
Scheifele was hurt in New York on Tuesday and will not play tonight vs. the Devils. Scheifele’s injury will force the Jets to shuffle their lines, but Blake Wheeler will stay on the wing this time.

Howard allowed two goals on 21 shots after replacing Jared Coreau in the Red Wings loss in Boston on Tuesday. The Red Wings are plummeting, which is fine for them at this point in the season and tonight they welcome the Golden Knights for their first ever visit to Little Caesars Arena. Howard is 12-11-6 with a 2.73 GAA and .912 SV% on home ice this year.
Luongo allowed five goals on 33 shots in the Panthers loss in Tampa Bay on Tuesday. The loss snapped a five-game winning streak for Luongo but he will remain in net tonight vs. the Canadiens. It will be his first start against his hometown team this season and there aren’t too many goalies playing as well as Bobby Lu right now.
