The Maple Leafs recalled Petter Granberg from Toronto (AHL).

Granberg was sent down yesterday, but when the Maple Leafs traded Cody Franson to the Predators a spot on the Leafs blue line opened back up. Granberg will likely lineup next to Morgan Rielly on Tuesday.

The Senators have signed Marc Methot to a four-year, $19.6 million contract extension.

Methot was set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, but is now signed through the 2018-19 season with a $4.9M annual cap-hit. Methot has missed 37 games with a lingering back issue this season. He has five assists and a plus-8 rating while average 21:37 TOI in 17 games.

Vatanen left Sunday’s game with a lower-body injury and did not return.

Vatanen logged just 5:22 of ice time before being forced to retire to the dressing room with a lower-body injury on Sunday. Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau did not have an update on Vatanen after Sunday’s game, so expect more information on Monday.

Sami Vatanen
Josh Gorges is out indefinitely with a lower-body injury.

There is no timeline for Gorges return, but coach Ted Nolan wouldn’t say that Gorges season was over. Gorges would have likely lined up alongside new-comer Zach Bogosian, but with Gorges out, Andre Benoit played with Bogosian on Sunday.

Josh Gorges
Vlasic (upper-body) was a minus-2 in 20-plus minutes in his return to the Sharks lineup on Sunday.

Vlasic missed five games with an upper-body injury, but returned to the lineup last night vs. the Lightning. It was a shaky return for the 27-year-old, while the Sharks were dropped 5-2. Overall it has been a strong year for Vlasic, who has 17 points (6G / 11A) and a plus-13 rating in 53 games.

Marc-Edouard Vlasic
Howard will be back in goal on Monday vs. Montreal.

Howard gave up four goals on 38 shots in Saturday’s shootout loss to the Jets. It wasn’t the best showing, but it was his first start in over a month. He will go again tonight in a huge matchup against Montreal. In his first two starts against the Habs, Howie has gone 0-1-1 with a 3.10 GAA and .891 SV%.

Jimmy Howard
Dubnyk will start on Monday in Vancouver.

Dubnyk allowed three goals on 27 shots in the Wild’s 6-3 victory over the Hurricanes on Saturday. He has gone 3-0-0 with a 2.20 GAA and .937 SV% vs. the Canucks this season (2 w/ MIN).

Gibson leads the Ducks onto the ice for warmups.

Gibson stopped 35 of 36 shots in the Ducks win in Carolina on Thursday. It was a great return to the NHL for Gibson, who appears to have drawn the Capitals at home tonight. He catches a break with Justin Peters opposing him, but the Capitals ninth ranked offence shouldn’t be taken lightly.

John Gibson
Luongo leads the Panthers onto the ice for warmups.

Luongo allowed two goals on 23 shots in the Panthers loss in Minnesota on Thursday. He was given Friday night off, so he will be back in goal tonight vs. the Blues. He has gone 2-2-1 with a 2.58 GAA and .913 SV% in February and should be avoided tonight with the rough matchup—unless you are in desperate need of goalie help.

Ramo will be in goal on Monday.

Peterst starts tonight in Anaheim.

Peters gave up four goals on 40 shots in the Capitals loss to St. Louis on February 1st. He has not had a lot of playing time this season, going 2-5-1 with a 3.58 GAA and .870 SV% in the first four and a half months of the season. Tonight he will get thrown into the fire with a brutal matchup in Anaheim.

Neuvirth gets the call on Sunday vs. the Flyers.

Neuvirth gave up three goals on 31 shots in the Sabres loss to the Islanders last Sunday. With Jhonas Enroth now in Dallas, the starting gig belongs solely to Neuvirth. He will face the Flyers for the second time this season. The first meeting didn’t go great, he allowed four goals on 32 shots in a 4-3 loss.

Michal Neuvirth
Emery gets the nod on Sunday in Buffalo.

Emery allowed four goals on 33 shots in the Flyers loss in Columbus on Friday. He has dropped two straight games while stopping 68 of 74 shots (.919 SV%). He makes for a risky option on most nights, but should be a safe start tonight in Buffalo. The Sabres have lost six of eight since the All Star break.
