Smid (upper-body) is doubtful for Wednesday’s game vs. the Red Wings.

Smid participated in his first practice since getting hurt on Monday and he will likely skate on Tuesday and Wednesday as well, but he is unlikely to play on vs. Detroit. Look for him to return later in the week on either Friday or Saturday.

The Sharks have recalled Freddie Hamilton from Worcester (AHL).

Hamilton, 23, has 21 points (6G / 15A) in 32 games with Worcester this season. He failed to record a point in 11 games with the Sharks last season. He has been recalled because Joe Thornton is on injured reserve, but there is no word if he will make it to Winnipeg for tonight’s game.

Freddie Hamilton
Crawford will start for the Blackhawks on Tuesday.

Crawford allowed four goals on 34 shots in the Blackhawks win over the Stars on Sunday. Since returning from his foot injury, he has won three of six starts with a 3.31 GAA and .892 SV%. Tonight he will face the Avalanche for the third time this season—he is 2-0-0 with a 2.00 GAA and .926 SV% in the first two meetings.

Corey Crawford
Anderson starts on Tuesday.

Anderson surrendered two goals on 28 shots in the Senators OT win in Boston on Saturday. He was given Sunday night off, but will be back in goal tonight in Philadelphia. Anderson has been hot as of late, winning four of six with a 1.82 GAA and .934 SV%. Anderson has gone 4-7-2 on the road this year.

Craig Anderson
Niemi was the first goalie off of the ice for the Sharks.

Niemi was pulled after he gave up six goals on 27 shots in the Sharks 7-2 loss to the Blues on Saturday. Despite the brutal outing, it looks like San Jose will go back with Niemi tonight in Winnipeg. He has lost three of four with a 3.23 GAA and .897 SV%. Niemi has gone 8-5-2 in 15 starts on the road this season.

Smid (upper-body) returned to Flames practice on Monday.

Smid has missed the last nine games with an upper-body injury that he suffered on December 12th in Pittsburgh. If he practices on Tuesday and is in the morning skate on Wednesday, there is a good chance he will be back for that night’s game vs. Detroit.

Brouillette will make his Jets debut on Monday.

Brouillette, 28, will play in his first game since November 30th (with St. John’s). He has two goals and two assists in 11 games with St. John’s this season. He has one goal and one assist in 10 career NHL games, all of which were with the Capitals last season.

Clitsome is expected to miss a couple of weeks with an upper-body injury.

Clitsome is listed as day-to-day, but coach Paul Maurice says it’s more like a couple of weeks. Clitsome will undergo some more tests before they release and official timetable. Maurice would not say if the injury is related to the back injury that Clitsome battled in 2013-14.

Grant Clitsome
Bogosian (lower-body) will travel on the Jets’ upcoming road-trip.

Bogosian will travel with the team on their three-game road-trip that starts on Thursday in Arizona. There is a possibility that Bogosian returns to the lineup on that trip but that is not a sure thing. Expect him to take on massive minutes when he gets back on the blue line.

Zach Bogosian

Hutchinson stopped 20 of 21 shots in the Jets 5-1 win over the Maple Leafs on Saturday. Tonight he will get his fifth start in the Jets’ last six games, cementing himself as their number-1. He has won four of his last five starts with a 1.80 GAA and .939 SV%. He will face a Sharks team who have lost four of five.
