Lehtonen was the first goalie off for the Stars.

Lehtonen gave up three goals on 25 shots in the Stars 4-0 loss to the Maple Leafs on Tuesday. It was his second straight loss and made him 13-8-5 with a 3.00 GAA and .904 SV% on the season. He made 23 saves in a 4-3 OT loss in his first start vs. St. Louis.

Quick was the first goalie off for the Kings.

Quick surrendered four goals on 28 shots in the Kings 4-3 overtime loss to Calgary on Monday. Quick is one guy who wouldn’t mind seeing December come to an end—he is 4-3-2 with a 2.53 GAA and .897 SV% this month. He was pull after allowing four goals on 27 shots in his first outing against the Sharks.

Emery starts for the Flyers.

Emery stopped 22 of 24 shots in the Flyers 4-2 win vs. the Wild on Tuesday. Emery has won three in a row with a 2.34 GAA and .896 SV%. With Steve Mason still sidelined, Emery will start his second straight and third in his last four games. He will be in tough as he goes head-to-head with a Pekka Rinne.

Hiller starts for the Flames.

Hiller surrendered three goals on 34 shots in the Flames OT win over the Kings on Monday. It was Hiller’s first win since November 18th and made him 10-10-2 with a 2.40 GAA and .915 SV%. Tonight he draws a fabulous matchup with the struggling Oilers in town.

Weiss (head) will be in the lineup on Saturday vs. Ottawa.

Weiss left Tuesday’s game with an apparent head injury, but will not miss any more action as a result. He said he was a little “woozy” after the hit, but is fine now and will be in the lineup tonight. He will skate on the second line with Riley Sheahan and Tomas Tatar.

Svedberg is the Bruins' probable starter.

Svedberg allowed two goals on 37 shots in the Bruins 3-2 win over the Wild 10 days ago. Svedberg has gone 4-4-0 with a 2.24 GAA and .925 SV% in eight starts this season. He made 25 saves in a 4-3 shootout win in his first start vs. Columbus.

Dubnyk will be between the pipes for the Coyotes.

Dubnyk allowed one goal on 27 shots in Tuesday’s 5-1 win over the Oilers. He is now 2-2-1 with a 2.95 GAA and .917 SV% in five starts in December. He is starting to look like the Coyotes starter because Mike Smith continues to struggle mightily. Dubnyk is a dangerous start tonight with Anaheim in town.

Holtby gets the nod vs. the Penguins.

Holtby gave up four goals on 27 shots in the Capitals loss to the Rangers on Tuesday. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Holtby, but that won’t stop the Capitals from giving him his 12th consecutive start. Holtby enters play at 10-4-2 with a 2.13 GAA and .925 SV% on the road this season.

Hutchinson gets his second straight start.

Hutchinson stopped 38 of 39 shots in the Jets 5-1 win over the Blackhawks on Tuesday. It was a great outing for Hutchinson, who will get the nod tonight, which will break the Jets goalie rotation. Hutchinson is 8-2-2 with a 1.67 GAA and .944 SV% in 11 games this season.

Ward will start against the Lightning.

Ward stopped 32 of 34 shots in the Hurricanes lost to the Rangers last Saturday. He was given the next two games off, but he will start again tonight in Tampa Bay. He lost his first start vs. Tampa Bay and has gone 3-8-0 with a 2.95 GAA and .893 SV% on the road this season.

Allen will be in goal for the Blues.

Allen gave up five goals on 31 shots in the Blues defeat to the Avalanche on Tuesday. Allen has struggled in December, going 3-2-1 with a 3.61 GAA and .879 SV%, but he should be a fine start at home tonight. Allen is 6-1-1 with a 2.51 GAA and .896 SV% at Scottrade Center this year.

Ward is probable to start for the Hurricanes.

Ward stopped 32 of 34 shots in the Hurricanes lost to the Rangers last Saturday. He was given the next two games off, but he will start again tonight in Tampa Bay. He lost his first start vs. Tampa Bay and has gone 3-8-0 with a 2.95 GAA and .893 SV% on the road this season.

Cam Ward
Howard starts in goal on Saturday vs. Ottawa.

Howard stopped eight of nine shots before departing last Friday’s game with a groin injury. Despite posting a 1.12 GAA and .952 SV% in his last four games, he lost all four of those games. Tonight, he will face the Senators—he is 1-1-0 with 2.51 GAA and .912 SV% against Ottawa this year.
