Twelve combatants down, four to go in pro sports’ greatest tournament. While Round 1 of the Stanley Cup playoffs brought the shock and drama, Round 2 featured a few teams gaining momentum and cutting through their competition quickly. The Edmonton Oilers, riding the Pink Pony Club vibes, have won eight of their past nine games this postseason after steamrolling the Vegas Golden Knights in five games. Edmonton draws the Dallas Stars in a Western Conference Final rematch. The Carolina Hurricanes, meanwhile, have just two losses across the first two rounds after disposing of the Washington Capitals in five, but the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers make for a stiff test. They swept the Canes in the Eastern Conference Final two years ago.
