Scrivens will start in goal for the Oilers.

Scrivens allowed one goal on 14 shots in the Oilers win over the Devils on February 9th. He missed the last four games with a hamstring issue, but will be back in goal tonight vs. the Bruins. In three starts since the All Star break, Scrivens has gone 2-1-0 with a 2.36 GAA and .896 SV%. In his first start against Boston, he allowed four goals on 31 shots in a 5-2 loss.

Talbot makes his eighth consecutive start on Thursday.

Talbot gave up five goals on 43 shots in the Rangers 6-5 win over the Islanders on Monday. Since Henrik Lundqvist went down, Talbot has gone 5-1-1 but he can thank an offence who has averaged 4.14 goals over that span. His 3.01 GAA and .900 SV% are not pretty numbers, but with the offence support he is getting, he is a good candidate to get his 10th win of the season tonight vs. Vancouver.

Lundqvist (neck) skated on his own on Wednesday afternoon.

Lundqvist was on the ice before the Rangers practice this afternoon. Today was the first time that he has skated since suffering the neck injury on February 2nd. He is nearly two weeks into a three-week timetable, so it looks like he is right on schedule in his recovery.

The Capitals have sent Steven Oleksy to Hershey (AHL).

Washington will play three of the next four games at home, so they don’t really need a seventh defenseman right now. If one of their six regular blue liners gets banged up, expect Oleksy to be recalled once again.

Steven Oleksy
Stafford (upper-body) will skate on Thursday; could play in Washington.

Stafford is expected to take part in the Jets morning skate on Thursday and could be in the lineup vs. the Capitals. If Stafford is unable to play, then Dustin Byfuglien will move back to forward with Adam Pardy likely to draw in. Monitor Stafford’s status during the A.M skate.

Drew Stafford
Perreault is expected to miss the rest of the regular season with a “significant” lower-body injury.

Perreault suffered the injury on Monday vs. the Oilers. Perreault suffered a serious lower-body injury and is likely to miss the remainder of the regular season. Given the serious nature of the injury, the Jets moved Perreault to IR to make room to recall Carl Klingberg from St. John’s (AHL). This is a tough break for the Jets, who currently sit fifth in the West.

Mathieu Perreault
Sekac in; Malhotra out.

Sekac has been a healthy scratch for the last two games, but will get back into the lineup tonight in Ottawa. The 22-year-old has not scored a goal in 18 games (last goal: Dec 29). There is no word on who he will play with, but it is expected to be the third or fourth line.

Jiri Sekac
Perreault (lower-body) did not practice on Wednesday.

Perreault suffered a lower-body injury on Tuesday and missing today’s practice isn’t a good sign for Perreault’s availability for Thursday’s contest in Washington. Expect head coach Paul Maurice to update Perreault’s status after Wednesday’s skate.

Vanek (lower-body) is questionable for Wednesday’s game in Calgary.

Vanek missed practice on Tuesday and is questionable for tonight’s game against the Flames. With Vanek potentially out, the Wild have recalled Michael Keranen from Iowa (AHL), who will make his NHL debut if Vanek is unable to go.

The Wild have recalled Michael Keranen from Iowa (AHL).

Keranen, 25, has recorded 32 points (9G / 23A) and 16 penalty minutes in 52 games with Iowa this season. He leads the team in assists, ranks second in scoring and shots (113) and is fourth in goals. He could make his NHL debut on Wednesday in Calgary.

Michael Keranen
The Blues have recalled Petteri Lindbohm from Chicago (AHL).

Lindbohm, 21, has dressed 41 games for the Wolves this season, recording 17 points (6G / 11A) to go along with 56 penalty minutes. In addition, the 6-foot-5, 202-pound defenseman has appeared in nine games for the Blues, collecting one assist and six penalty minutes.

Petteri Lindbohm
The Oilers have placed Viktor Fasth (knee) on injured reserve.

Fasth suffered a knee injury in Monday’s shootout loss and his movement to IR allowed the Oilers to activate Ben Scrivens, who is set to return form a hamstring injury. There is no word on how long Fasth will be sidelined, but being on IR means that he will miss at least the next three games.

Bobrovsky (groin) is travelling on the Blue Jackets four-game road-trip.

Bobrovsky is expected to return at the end of February, so it seems unlikely that he will play during the road-trip, but he is likely traveling with the team to get in a few practices before returning during the Blue Jackets three-game home stand that starts next Tuesday.
