Ward allowed four goals on 35 shots in the Hurricanes shootout loss to the Blues on Saturday. He didn’t start on Tuesday, but it looks like he will be in goal tonight vs. the Canucks. In his first start against Vancouver, he allowed three goals on 24 shots in a 4-1 loss.

The Blue Jackets have placed Jack Skille (lower-body) on injured reserve.

Skille, 27, suffered a lower body injury on January 9 against Toronto and is expected to miss two weeks from the time of the injury. They placed him IR to make room to recall Josh Anderson from Springfield (AHL).

The Bruins will keep David Pastrnak past the nine-game mark.

Pastrnak appeared in his ninth game last night, and the Bruins announced that he will be sticking with the team, burning the first year of his entry-level contract. He has recorded four goals, one assist and a plus-6 rating in nine games. He is the type of game-breaking offensive talent the Bruins needed.

David Pastrnak
Johnson (lower-body) returned to the lineup on Thursday.

Johnson skated in the morning with a no-contact jersey and coach Jon Cooper said he thinks Johnson would be back before the All Star break. He never formally ruled him out, but all signs pointed towards him not playing. To no one’s surprise, Johnson recorded two assists, giving him four goals and seven assists (11 points) in his last seven games.

Tyler Johnson
Schneider will be in goal on Friday.

Schneider allowed three goals on 26 shots in the Devils 5-3 win over the Kings on Wednesday. Schneider has played very well as of late, winning three of four with a 2.01 GAA and .927 SV%. He won his first start on the California trip, but it is difficult to expect a repeat performance from the Devils in Anaheim tonight.

Cory Schneider
Lundqvist will start on Friday vs. Columbus.

Lundqvist allowed three goals on 32 shots in the Rangers’ 3-0 loss to the Islanders on Tuesday. He was given last night off, but will be back between the pipes tonight in Columbus. King Henrik has been much better on the road than at home, going 9-3-1 with a 1.98 GAA and .926 SV%.

He is 6-7-0 with a 3.51 GAA and .902 SV% on the year, but the Leafs are allowing fewer shots under the new regime, so could we see an improved Reimer?

Lindback leads the Stars onto the ice for warmups.

Lindback stopped 34 of 36 shots that he faced after replacing Kari Lehtonen in the Stars come-from-behind win over the Senators on Tuesday. It was Lindback’s best performance of the season, which looks like it earned him the start tonight vs. the visiting Winnipeg Jets. Lindback has gone 1-3-0 with a 3.84 GAA and .871 SV% at home this year.

Anders Lindback
Rask leads the Bruins onto the ice for warmups.

Rask allowed three goals on 19 shots in the Bruins 4-3 win over the Lightning on Tuesday. Dustin Tokarski
Emery will be in net for the Flyers.

Emery allowed three goals on 13 shots after replacing Steve Mason in last Saturday’s loss to the Bruins. He was Rob Zepp’s backup for the last two games, but he will start tonight in the second game of a back-to-back. He is 7-7-1 with a 3.21 GAA and .889 SV% in 13 starts this season.

Ray Emery

Pavelec surrendered four goals on 43 shots in Sunday’s shootout loss in Anaheim. Pavelec has lost each of his last four starts while allowing four goals in each contest and posting a .906 SV%. Tonight he will take on a Stars team who are averaging four goals per game in their last nine contests.

Ondrej Pavelec
Booth suffered a fractured nose on Wednesday; game-time decision for Thursday.

Booth is still being monitored by the Maple Leafs medical staff, but he has not been diagnosed with a concussion at this time, which is good news considering his history of concussion problems. If all he has is a fractured nose, then there is a chance he could throw on a face shield and be in the lineup tonight vs. the Sharks.

David Booth
Drew Shore will make his Flames debut on Thursday vs. Arizona.

Shore, 23, was the 44th overall pick in the 2009 NHL Draft. He was recently acquired from the Florida Panthers and will play his first game with the Flames tonight in Arizona. He has eight goals and 12 assists (20 points) in 67 career NHL games. He will centre the third line with Lance Bouma and Joe Colborne on his wings.
