Luongo allowed two goals on 30 shots in the Panthers shootout win over the Sharks on Thursday. It was a nice bounce-back after Bobby Lu had allowed seven combined goals in his previous two starts (both losses). Tonight, he will face the red-hot Pekka Rinne and the Predators.
Trotman did not get into a game during his most recent recall. With Trotman going down the Bruins have just six active defensemen.
Lindblad, 24, has two goals and four assists in 16 games with Providence. He failed to record a point in his only two NHL games with the Bruins last season.
Caron, 24, failed to record a point in his only game with the Bruins this season. While in Providence, he registered five goals and four assists in nine games. No word on if he will crack the lineup tonight vs. the Canadiens.
Upshall missed Thursday’s game with a lower-body injury, but he was on the ice this morning, which suggests he could return tonight, but there is no official word on whether he will be back.
Pirri has been sidelined since October 30th with a concussion, but he has been skating this week and appears to be nearing a return. It doesn't look like he will be in the lineup tonight, but he is definitely getting close.
Marchand will miss his third straight game with an undisclosed injury. He has skated lately but still remains day-to-day.
Ward gave up three goals on 39 shots in a loss to the Kings on Thursday. He has lost three of his last four with a 2.81 GAA and .913 SV%. Despite a rough stretch, Ward has been extremely consistent over the last month. He draws a strong matchup tonight vs. a banged up Avalanche team still struggling to score goals.
Niemi surrendered two goals on 28 shots in a shootout loss to the Panthers on Thursday. Niemi has lost five of his last six outings with a 2.67 GAA and .908 SV%. Despite his recent struggles he should make for a strong start vs. the Coyotes.
Elliott stopped 15 of 17 shots in a 2-0 loss to the Bruins on Tuesday. Despite the Blues outshooting the B’s badly, Tuukka Rask stood on his head at the other end. He has a 1.89 GAA and .928 SV% through 12 starts, so he can be trusted this afternoon vs. his former team.
Russell has missed the last two games with a lower-body injury, but it looks like he will get back on the blue line tonight. Russell took part in the morning skate and was paired with Dennis Wideman on the second pair as well as the second power-play unit.
Mitchell suffered an apparent leg injury during Friday’s practice and will not play on Saturday vs. the Hurricanes. The Avalanche are severely banged up right now and that will push Daniel Briere into the top-6.
Cory Schneider’s consecutive games started streak will stop at 20 as Clemmensen will get his first start of the season tonight in Calgary. Clemmensen was 1-2-1 with a 2.18 GAA and .920 SV% in his time with Albany. In two relief appearances with the Devils he has allowed four goals on 17 shots (.765 SV%) so it will be hard to trust the 37-year-old.

Rask stopped all 33 shots he faced in a 2-0 win over the Blues on Tuesday. He was given last night off so he could get a crack at the Canadiens tonight. There’s something about Montreal that Rask can’t figure out—he is 3-11-3 lifetime against the Habs and 0-5-3 vs. Montreal at TD Garden.
Rinne allowed two goals on 31 shots in the Predators 9-2 destruction of the Maple Leafs on Tuesday. Rinne has been ridiculous in November—posting a 6-1-0 record, 1.86 GAA and .933 SV%. He was given Thursday off so its a near certainty that he will face the Panthers tonight. Rinne is a must-start.
Pouliot broke his foot while blocking a shot in the Oilers loss to the Devils on Friday. With Pouliot out, it appears as if Matt Hendricks will move up to the third line and Jesse Joensuu will draw into the lineup. A recall should come on Sunday.
Scrivens gave up five goals on 31 shots in a loss to the Canucks on Wednesday. He has lost each of his last six starts while posting a 3.71 GAA and .881 SV%. This recent stretch has not been pretty and a visit from the Blackhawks makes Scrivens a risky start once again.
